News that Nicki Minaj welcomed her first baby into the world with husband Kenneth Petty circulated last week, but over the weekend, the rapper's mom, Carol Maraj has confirmed the little bundle of joy has arrived in a new Instagram post.

Along with fan artwork of Nicki holding a baby, "Glam-ma" Carol shared:

"Thank you Lord for Blessing my daughter @nickiminaj with a beautiful bundle of joy! You have always been a Blessing to myself and your family, and now you have received one of the best Blessings from God. 'Children are a gift from the Lord. They are a reward from Him.' Psalms 127:3 #glamma let us rejoice!!!!"

Nicki has yet to share the news of the birth of her child herself, but TMZ reported that the little one arrived on September 30th in Los Angeles. The outlet also reported that Kenneth was by his wife's side for the baby's birth.

Fans first learned that Minaj was pregnant over the summer after the star shared several photos from a pregnancy shoot with with famed photographer David LaChappelle, featuring her bare baby bump on display. In one caption she wrote, "#Preggerz," while in another she shared, "Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes."

A year ago, in September 2019, Minaj tweeted that she was retiring to start her family. She wrote, "I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE."

Of course, Nicki didn't retire from music as she's released and has been featured on a number of songs over the last year.
