Newton North High School Reviews
Rating 4.06 out of 5 407 reviews
As a freshman I thought Newton North was extremely diverse, but come to realize now, it was just because our elementary and middle schools were smaller, which meant naturally less people of color. There is a lot of support from certain teachers of color, that have made me feel at home, but I realize now, I was just excited to see people who looked like me. The best part about our school, is the community in each thing you can get involved in. We have a variety of different clubs and sports and groups to be a part of. I have felt prouder about who I am in the time I have attended.
I moved to MA. during summer of 2020, and started at Newton North High School as a freshman not knowing anyone. The students, teachers, counselors, and coaches all helped me find community in this school. Throughout my time here I have pursued so many of my interests with the help and support of my teachers. I have become much more confident in my abilities and myself as a person because of this school and I am beyond grateful for the past two years. This year (my senior year) the teachers and other NPS workers had to go on strike due to unfair treatment and that time brought the school much closer together. Although it was difficult, I am grateful that my teachers did this as it ensures a better future of the school, with more funds and resources for the students.
Newton north high school is a new and modern school. They offer a lot of great shops and hands on opportunities. However, overly focused on equity and not enough on working hard to get ahead.
