New Rochelle High School offers an interesting experience. On one hand, the school has dedicated teachers and a diverse student body, creating a vibrant learning environment. The range of extracurricular activities is commendable, providing opportunities for students to explore various interests. However, administrative issues make the institution, with inconsistent communication. The facilities also leave much to be desired, lacking modern amenities and maintenance. Improvement in administrative efficiency and facility upgrades are crucial for enhancing the overall experience at New Rochelle High School.
My senior year at New Rochelle High School, five currently enrolled students died, one was stabbed, and a few alum died in other states. It was a tragic year, and the morale was at an all time low. The teachers had no idea how to help anyone who was affected, and there is only one psychologist for over 3,000 kids. The counselors barely know their designated students' names, so they were no help. And the principal at the time took no responsibility. While they are currently under new administration, people still talk. The students don't care about their education, their parents don't care, and any teacher that makes an effort to correct a child is then reprimanded.
My experience at New Rochelle High school was like a rollercoaster. The teachers and faculty are amazing to connect with. However sometimes when it comes to their jobs, they tend to fall short. It's sometimes those connections that makes them fall short. For instance, the security guards would show favoritism. They would let some students skip class, walk around the school, leave the school, or even fight other students. Now the teachers they would also let the students skip class and even let them stay in their room. Which allowed students to vape and smoke. Our sports teams are good.especially basketball. I may be a little bias because I play on the team and basketball is my life, but we really are. Both the boys and girls team.
