Neuvic

Ranked Historic Monument, Castle Neuvic was built in the sixteenth century on the banks of the Isle. From the Renaissance, the building has preserved vaulted ceilings, beautiful murals and a stone sink on three levels. Strolling in the heart of the furnished castle, you also can experience a Grand Salon Louis XV, a chapel and a romantic grotto decorated eighteenth. Accessible guided tour retracing the history of places up to his legacy in 1950 to the Hospices Foundation Orphans of Perigueux, the site is open for the summer season.

Built between the thirteenth and fourteenth century castle Frateau experienced several changes over the centuries. Private property, it reveals a particular entry of the seventeenth century and hosts a craft pottery workshop.

Walking through the city, be sure not to appreciate the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, a domed Romanesque building with an apse of the nineteenth century, the ruins of Puy-bridge and castle mill of the Veyssière. The latter is open to the public and to discover the secrets of homemade walnut oil.

Crossing Neuvic, you will be seduced by a walk on the banks of the Isle to enjoy the fauna and local flora.

• The market is held every Tuesday and Saturday morning. A Christmas market with entertainment is also available by year end.
• In July, the town hosts a night market with many animations.
• A fireworks and a ball are organized on the occasion of the national holiday in July.
• In early August, the town offers its famous stock exchange weapons with entertainment as a parade of vintage cars and a craft market.
• In October, up to Neuvicoise, races and walks of 6, 9 or 12 km for the fight against breast cancer.
