Silly, quirky and laugh out loud funny

I fell in love with this after about 5-6 episodes. The characters are wonderful and you see the world through the eyes and the minds of the aliens. However, even though they have been on Earth for several years now, they still haven't learned anything about the people that inhabit our planet, and in moves the Weavers:-) Debbie Weaver, after finding out that her family has just moved into a community of Aliens ( after getting over the shock ) takes it upon herself to teach them about earth and how to get along and to do things the right way ( her Oprah moment ) fun and laughter ensues and lots of learning moments in between.

I really hope they pick this up for another season, it's worth watching and enjoyable for the whole family. they definitely worked out the kinks since the first few episodes!

This is a well written poignant sophisticated comedy series that deserves a second and third look. Pitch perfect acting performances turned in by every single cast member. I have shown this series to friends, family, and work colleagues who come from diverse backgrounds and from a wide range of demographics- It is a universal good time. Each person has thanked me for making them watch it with me because it is THAT GOOD. No laugh track. Thank God. No faux documentary style. Your laughs will be as genuine as your tears. I promise. Watch this show. Watch it before it gets cancelled. This show is like Haley's comet-- Something this good only comes around every 76 years or so. So tune in and enjoy the ride.

I don't know how such a well-written, quirky, and thoroughly amusing show made it to network tv, but I am SO grateful! AS many of my favorite sitcoms, Parks and Rec, and Big Bang, move toward cruder and cruder and explicit sexual language, I despaired of finding 'truly funny' again, and was ready to retire my tv. Then along came Neighbors! Watch it-it is hands down the funniest show to come on tv in a long time. Very original, every actors is great in this. In the first few shows, the children were pretty wooden and I hoped they would fade into the background, but the writers seemed to have spent some time fleshing them out and their presence now adds to the story line.

I love Neighbors night on TV!

Why this show was cancelled I'll never know. Heartwarming and fun, one of the best shows of last season. I hope Season 2 comes out on DVD as well. I'm also a huge Community fan, and when I learned that Yahoo streaming picked up Community for Season 6, yet the Neighbors didn't garner any interest I felt cheated. This is not really about aliens as much as its about a fish out of water comedy for every one in the cast, humans and aliens alike. This show was our favorite show last year, with a great lead-in show, Last Man Standing.

I didn't have really high expectations for this show but I think its my favorite TV comedy at this point. I think its pretty clever and a lot of the acting is really very good. The premise could easily lend itself to something awful, but it doesn't take itself too seriously, has some very clever dialog and can be self-referential in a very amusing way. I think its probably pretty underrated like Better Off Ted and Andy Richter Rules The Universe - not quite as witty as either of those shows but really pretty clever in its own way.

Do Not Watch The First 5 Episodes

Do not watch the first five episodes... ever! And this is especially true if that would be your first experience with the series. Because in addition to causing your eyes and ears to bleed and a bit of residual brain damage, you'll likely never want to see another episode again. In fact, for your own safety, and the safety of your loved-ones, upon receiving your DVD set, immediately break disc 1 in half and throw it away. Yes, you'll be sacrificing a couple additional episodes, but the safety and well-being of your family is worth it.

With that said, episodes 6 through 22 are very good with each episode being better than the last. By the tenth episode the writers and actors have all found their stride and are producing a top-notch product. But too bad, seems the show never recovered from that rocky start and was canceled after the second season.

This is a very entertaining show and a surprise. I thought it sounded silly at first but once I watched it became a favorite.. Fun and clever. I am not into romantic type sitcoms at all. I only watch HBO and AMC shows generally. For sitcoms, this show, Modern Family and Super Fun Night are the only ones I watch although I would say the Middle is good as well. ABC seems to be able ro give this one a fair shake so hopefully they bring it back. I will miss Dick Butkis especially.

An amazing amount of comedic material in 24 minutes an episode. Everyone in the cast played their parts exceptionally well and no one was spared tomfoolery. We are lucky that the show got two full seasons, but it was cancelled well before its time.

Had to buy the region 1 box set as this show wasn't released in region 2 as of October 2013.
