Menstruation Shorts: Creating a Supportive Environment and Network

In the first of five videos, the Welsh Institute of Performance Science’s Natalie Brown highlights the importance of creating a supportive environment and network for female participants, particularly when discussing the menstrual cycle

A support network is important for female athletes and coaches. Coach and athlete conversations and parental involvement, where necessary, all help to create a supportive environment and will ensure that, if concerns are raised, you already have the right people involved to help the individual find the best solution.

Importantly, if periods are irregular or absent, this includes seeking medical advice.
