Job Description:

The Associate Dean in the Office of Admissions, Division of Academic Student Services will assist in the planning, organizing, and management of the Admissions Department, while encouraging institutional awareness and appreciation of diversity to enhance a culture of inclusion, using the highest of ethical standards.

The Associate Dean works expeditiously and diligently on behalf of the institution while operating with a data-informed and equity-focused approach to enhance student access and enrollment in collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders. 

The Associate Dean will:

  • Assist Supervisor(s) with Departmental needs.
  • Assist with the continuing development and implementation of a comprehensive recruitment plan designed to meet enrollment goals.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, support, and oversight to ensure optimal administration of the College's CRM and other system(s)/program(s) for the Department.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of admissions-related events for new students including, but not limited to, open houses and admissions information sessions.
  • Monitor the transfer evaluation process, and conduct transfer credit evaluations when necessary.
  • Attend and represent the College at recruitment functions, including but not limited to, high school visits, college fairs, and community events when necessary.
  • Assist supervisor(s) with the development and delivery of admissions projects, recruitment strategies, and outreach.
  • Collaborate with administrators, deans, faculty and admissions counselors to facilitate and improve new student enrollment and retention.
  • Serve on committees as appointed.
  • Commit to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Education Administration or a related discipline; and
three years of experience in administration.

Experience in higher education is preferred.

Additional requirements include:

  • Familiarity with the mission, goals, and objectives of the College and the demographics of the current student body and alumni of NCC.
  • Knowledge of local community and service area.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and energy.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with students, faculty, administration, and internal and external constituencies.
  • Ability to manage and adapt to change, make difficult decisions, encourage conflict resolution, and assure employee and department accountability.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work effectively with ethnic, cultural, and socially diverse student populations.


Additional Information:

The Associate Dean reports directly to the Dean or Assistant Vice President in Dean's absence.
