Manchester United rival Serie A trio in Antonio Conte chase

Manchester United are reportedly keen on Antonio Conte as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag amid competition from Serie A clubs.

A report from Fichajes has claimed that Manchester United will face competition from AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli for 54-year-old Italian manager Antonio Conte.

Conte is widely regarded as one of the best managers in the game, and he could prove to be a quality addition for Manchester United. It seems that they are losing faith in the Dutchman, and ten Hag could be shown the door at the end of the season.

Despite substantial backing in the transfer market, the Dutchman has not been able to get the best out of his team, and Manchester United are set to miss out on Champions League qualification.

Their performances have been quite mediocre throughout the season, and a club of their stature deserves better. Ten Hag has fallen out with some of his players as well, and his big-money signings have not worked out.

Manchester United could do with a fresh start, and Conte could transform them. He is a proven manager who has shown his quality in the Premier League with Chelsea and Tottenham in the past. The Italian tactician has guided Chelsea to a league title and he did reasonably well with Spurs as well.

Manchester United must do their best to convince Antonio Conte

There will be no shortage of clubs queuing up to appoint the Italian manager, and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United can convince him to return to the Premier League. They will have to show their ambition in the transfer market to attract the manager like him. Conte will want to put together a formidable squad capable of winning trophies right away.

Manchester United have quality players that their disposal. But they need a few intelligent traditions in the summer to truly compete at a high level. The arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe will certainly boost their transfer budget for the summer, and it remains to be seen whether Conte is ready to take up the challenge.

He knows the Premier League well and he might feel that he can guide Manchester United back to the top of English football once again. Meanwhile, AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli have had disappointing seasons as well. So, it is no surprise that they are looking at a new manager.

Napoli won the league title last season, and their performances have been mediocre this term. Juventus have not been able to challenge  at a high level in recent seasons, while AC Milan should be fighting towards the top of the table as well.
