Oh - The other side starts Sasha and Digweed’s JJJ NE mix… which makes sense because Sasha produced it (just reading the credits lol)

It’s an amazing prog house/trance dreamy vocal affair - that cover though… sore feet? Bad ankles… this could possibly be in the running for worst 12” sleeve of 1997

The R.I.P. Wah-Wah Dub really encapsulates the Speed Garage era. Like so much of this sound, incredibly soulless and with little respect paid to the original song. Furthermore, it contains the almost obligatory Armand Van Helden samples which are two-fold in this case. The drums from his Insomnia Remix, and a string sample from his Sneaker Pimps Remix.

But none of that should take away from the fact that this one is an absolute banger, and one of the more popular R.I.P. remixes.

What a release! Forget the Gregorio mix and head straight for the B side where you will find Sasha team up with Maria Nayler again after they made the classic "Be As One". The track uses the same string sample as Arkham Asylum and is a great intro track (Sasha and Digweed used it for their first track on their Australian radio mix tape from around the same time and it is this mix that I first heard the track).

I would recommend you buy this vinyl over any other version as it contains the full 12:54 min version (other vinyl copies contain the shorter 12:17 min and 11:39 min versions) The CD only contains a 7:47 min edit which is really annoying as it seems we will never have a full digital copy of this track.

I have archived my vinyl to FLAC and will continue to listen to this progressive masterpiece for many, many years to come.

A must have record for progressive trance fans. 'The other side' is awesome a beautiful sasha production with real drive and floaty vocals, just timeless. I first heard on Sasha and digweeds jjj mix upset from Australia in 1997 and after re-discovering it again last week it definately has stood the test of time ! In a similar vein to 'be as one' also..
