This Basilica is a very nice place for reflection. The inside is beautifully decorated and one can only imagine how it looks when it is completely full during srvices.

We visit this every 18-24 months when we have a family reunion either for holidays, Holy Week, etc. The grounds are normally kept up a little better than this visit indicated; however, a nasty Cat 4 typhoon passed through this area only a few weeks ago, so maybe some of that is to blame. They added a hike up 300+ steps for a so-called infinity pool, but it was simply a round pool on top of the hill with a nice view. Signage was nonexistent, so we had to guess where to start and where to go once we completed the steps. I would not recommend going there on a rainy day or taking anyone that can’t handle the physical needs of climbing uneven steps with no handrails. Back at the hot springs, it was the normal fun place that keeps us going back. The kids and adults had a blast. We rented a couple of gazebos and BBQ’d some food and had a feast. They did increase the entrance fee this year, but it still only averaged around $4 a person for our group of 48 adults and children.

The trail is a bit difficult in the rainy season, but it’s well worth a visit when hiking for wildlife. I have seen several interesting wildlife along the trail and I like the mossy forest near the summit.

The Jesse Robredo museum is a must for all Filipinos since it shows how good governance and public service should really be. He was a role model for young and old and this museum tells that story. What a pity that few politicians have copied Jesse Robredo but see public office as a way to enrich themselves.

The museum is being rebuilt by the Ayala/Yuchengco group, the new owners of UNC. Mr. J.P. Suzara kindly explained the history of the museum and showed major artifacts that will be displayed when the museum reopens in July. Every member of UNC/Naga/Bicol community should be proud and support this endeavor to preserve and showcase local heritage and culture. Good luck & thank you, Mr. Suzara!!

Located beside the cathedral of Naga. Unfortunately at this time this is still temporarily closed when I visited. The security guard said that old religious artifacts of old Naga, vestments of past priest, an ancient Chinese wares from the trade are located inside the museum. Can't wait to get back when this opens. #RP

The Naga Metropolitan Cathedral aka. Metropolitan Cathedral and Parish of Saint John the Evangelist was built in 1808 and considered the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Caceres. Damaged and ravaged by earthquakes and typhoons this cathedral stands the test of time. Presently painted in black (waterproofing) due to numerous leaks when it rains. The interiors have been refurbished to stand earthquakes. A visit to this place brings you a lot of bonuses as it is surrounded by a lot of historical landmarks tucked away. #RP

The Latin name for Marian Gate. This structure was built to celebrate the tercentenary of the devotion to the Lady of Penafrancia. 36ft high and has three gates the center being the largest. Located within the proximity of the Naga Cathedral. #RP

A shrine honoring 15 Filipino Katipuneros from Naga who were executed during the Philippine revolt against Spain. Its a circular structure wherein the faces and names of the martyred are around the shrine. This place is surrounded by a church and a lot of restaurants. This is also close to Plaza Barlin and Quezon park. #RP

This church is the only parish inn Camaligan Camarines Sur and was said to have been built hundreds of years ago. Despite its age and the renovations made throughout the years, the old church was still preserved and the original walls are still standing strong. The people managing the church are friendly and welcoming. The people of the town are generous enough to provide visitors with the colorful history of he church.
