'There are a multitude of challenges that come with being in a new theatre in an unknown city every few weeks. There were some tears and a lot of laughs. We became a family by sharing unforgettable moments, practicing our craft across three continents over 10 months of time...The success of the project was beyond my highest hopes.' - Kevin Spacey Official Selection - TRIBECA Film Festival

Even more fascinating, the same production has to be adapted to the various stages - the Old Vic, in an old amphitheater in Greece, Istanbul, Naples, Beijing, Doha, and Sydney. I loved when Spacey says about the Greek Theater, “Julius Caesar sat here once, in the audience.”
Of course, the video as well as the production are riveting and passionate, and demanding, and brutal, and “Henry III” a master piece. The stages are all different and yet – it’s the same master piece.
To break up the intensity, viewers get entertained with seeing the actors sightseeing, and explore some of the most beautiful cities with most famous theaters/stages.

It's not really about Kevin Spacey, not really about Richard III (in fact it would have been helpful to know the plot of the play prior to watching). To me it was about the process of acting and what it really feels like to be the cast & crew on a world theatre tour.
A bit heavy on the Kevin Spacey adulation (he was, however, the driving force of the project and very committed to the role). Also, there was one actor who seemed to play up his rough-around-the-edges, down-home-country-boy persona for additional screen time. But we found it to be a very interesting behind-the-scenes documentary.
