What I mean by the title: has anyone played Shaman over the years, either of the specs, religiously, loyally, and so on, through the good and the bad?

Ive been maining Rsham (my first ever healer) since S3 of BFA. Over time I have gotten bored with it, deviating from time to time to Warrior and Paladin, but I always come back to Shaman in some form or another. It just feels like home. Like, “hello old friend, ready to go back into the fray?”

My only true gripe is that i cant be a human shaman.

And I know as for TWW, the only hero tree we have a glimpse of is Farseer. Im not overly excited about it, but if it over lays into how Rsham is now, its going to be powerful. I will admit, I dislike PW…and I really miss Vesper Totem and Chain Harvest. I honestly just miss Shaman being fun. I didnt love SL, but those borrowed powers were pretty nifty and fun.

My next goal is to hit 1800 pvp as Rsham. I get pretty close over the seasons( I only pug), but then I get burnt out.

So cheers to all the Shaman players, I always cheer you guys when I see ya in Val and SW. And idk why, but the very rare occasions ive seen Coreygunz, Cdew, and a few other Shaman players, I always get psyched.

I think I’d consider myself a die-hard Shaman main. Been playing the class as my main character, primarily as Resto, since MOP. Granted, I don’t have my original Shaman character from those days anymore. I bailed during the early days of BFA.

I’m just waiting to reroll to a Nightborne Shaman so I can finally make my D&D character - a Drow Elementalist.

I think Farseer is “okay”. It looks to be a “safe” spec that won’t overly bloat the class with more buttons to press. Will be curious to see how the Ancestor summons work.

I didn’t play SLs until its final patch, but I have to agree. I very much would prefer to have Chain Harvest over Primordial Wave as a Resto Shammy.

Mained enhance for quite a while. I love where it’s at, but wish high-target aoe was a little less of a gap. I think it could be fixed with tuning to crash lightning’s bonus damage, though.

I’ve mained Shaman since about two weeks after launch when I made my first Shaman… I’ve got other classes, but Shaman is my first love.

I’m also a diehard Enhancement Shaman, even back when the only Shaman anyone wanted on the team was a resto and I wasn’t rebuilding my character to keep other people alive while they did what I enjoy doing.

Really wish we were more durable…

As an altoholic ifs hard to day but ive always mained a shaman for at least 1 or two patches every expansion.

Themeatically its one of my favorites but the downsides always gets to me one way or the other.

Shamans should be able to use swords. My character is a troll gral pirate. Before i always tried to tie my character to a shadowhunter. Both seem off using maces and axes.

I also dont like how squishy we are. Kinda wish we gotna earth based hero spec, i dont wish it to become full tank like others but instead of proc heavy spammy lighting shaman i can play more slowly and be more brusier type.

Tbh i love shaman so much im prob going to main a moutain thane smf warrior and just rp him in my mind as a more sustain heavy shaman with swords lol.

I dont really do alts.

Shaman has been my main since TBC. I will switch between the specs, but I will always be shaman.

Mained rsham since sl when i first realy got into pvp. Never though about swaping since then. Best spec with a lot of deepness to it, i love it.

Absolutely love love love Restoration and Elemental Shaman, it was a nice refresh after strictly playing Combat Rogue/Protection Paladin during Vanilla/The Burning Crusade.

Some days I miss having totems in my bags, and the interactive quests for earning the elements blessing. Some days I don’t with my extremely limited bag space

The Legion expansion, and the Maelstrom as the order hall was perfect, plus the overall evolution of Shamans at the time coming humble beginnings to further mastery of the primal forces of Azeroth. (We should commit to hiring more loyal Firelords btw lol)

Now having not-played BFA or SL (till the end of the last season) I feel like those two expansion have created distance between how the class originally handled versus now, to that I’m still coming to understand by other posts in this class forum, but for me, it still felt familiar even coming back from that absence.

I always felt that a Shaman could oversee the battle at hand, controlling the circumstances to a degree, leading the outcome towards success. Hands down my favorite class in WoW, and it’s good to see my fellow Forces of Nature!

Been playing my Resto Shaman ever since the first hour of launch day! Dabbled in some alts here and there but I always go back to the Shaman. Just wish they would address our outdated models and totems, get rid of the Prim Wave and the covenant based abilities and stick with our elemental roots. I would like to see more abilities focusing on the elements to allow us to cater our play style to one or a mix of two elements. For example… Resto could be water and earth spec for healing and defensives for the toon and the group members etc…

I would say I am. I’ve played since Vanilla and shaman has always been my main.

PvPed alot with him as 2h enhance during Vanilla and it was a blast.

Started raiding in TBC and liked the healing style so I became a resto shaman for most of the time since. Ocasionally play ele as the offspec. Raided as ele this tier (only heroic) but played the majority of DF doing keys as resto.

I played all aspects of PvE with the class for a while now and just love it. Don’t get me wrong it has its shortcomings but the playstyle and utility is what I enjoy.

Until they delete the class I will likey remain a diehard shaman.

Mage has always been my main class, but I really enjoy Elemental and Restoration shaman specs and have played both specs since TBC. Enhancement is also very fun due to the mix of melee and elemental damage, but I’m not great at playing melee specs.

I “feel” like Shamans in general are under-played classes in general; I dont see very many, ever. So in an odd sense, I take some pride in playing a class that isnt seen as much as a paladin is.

I also, in truth, play Shaman because for whatever reason, Im pretty good at it, in PvP and M+. Like, it just comes natural to me.

It makes me happy to see people still responding to this post as well. Thank you to everyone that took the time to reply
