Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
They Call Me Trinity and Trinity Is Still My Name are among the many movies I saw on military bases years ago when they were new. I ordered and received the double sided DVD version. The first Trinity movie is my favorite. I see some negative reviews regarding poor quality and cropping in these full screen versions. The quality seems fine to me. Both movies are like I remembered seeing them on the large screen. To me the quality is just fine and looks good whether viewing them on my old large full screen analog TV or on my latest multiple screen choice digital jumbo screen. I switch from normal (full screen) to wide screen and the picture fills my wide screen. The only screen choice I do not prefer is panoramic (black bars) on top and below the picture (like letter box) which I hate. My choice of ways to view this DVD on my newest flat screen TV gives me just that, choice in how I want to view it. So that fuss made by some about quality holds no water with me. I consider having these movies on DVD as added Gems in my personal collection of favorites. I rate the doubled sided DVD 5 stars because I'm 100% satisfied and glad I own it now. Kcirtap
you get them both! these are every bit as funny as i remember. the greatest spaghetti westerns. the dubbing is a little off sometimes, but not enough to detract from the movie. if you have any taste whatsoever in movies, you will like these classics, if not love them. trinity and bambino at their best. lots and lots of physical, slapstick humor. even my wife liked them, and she is quite critical comedies.
This was a gift for a friend who loves both of these movies. They said both were just as they remembered and that the DVD worked great. It is nice that both are on one DVD so that it takes up less room. Happy with this purchase.
My husband remembered this as funnier than it really was. The movie was okay but the quality was horrible. It looked like someone had copied a copy of a copy. Not worth the price. Anyone want to buy my copy for really cheap?? ;-)
Even in the Christmas rush, I received my order very quickly. The movie was brand new, and it was a really nice addition to our movie collection--especially since we didn't anticipate being able to find this film!
This item arrived early and in great condition. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the movie's age . It's an older movie and the dubbing is bad. I know they cant help this. It was the same way when I watched it 20+ years ago.
Saw both of these films so many years ago on TV and enjoyed them both. OK so the acting isn't great but they are still really funny. I am happy to recommend them
“This used to be a quiet town before you came,” notes a deputy in They Call Me Trinity… “Disgusting town, but quiet.” That should let you know what to expect from this entertaining if a little overlong comedy paella western with Terence Hill (aka Mario Girotti) and Bud Spencer (aka Carlo Pedersoli) as mismatched brothers on the wrong side of the law finding themselves helping out a settlement of Mormons when evil Farley Granger wants to drive them off their land so his beloved horses can run free. The chemistry between the two leads is good and there are plenty of fun moments, all handsomely staged by Enzo Barboni (aka E.B. Clucher) with a good eye for Scope composition. The film proved so successful – the biggest Italian hit ever at the time – and encouraged so many rip-offs that even the pair’s earlier Westerns were reissued with new titles that found ingenious ways to incorporate ‘Trinity’ in the hope of fooling the punters, but only Trinity is Still My Name is a genuine sequel (excluding a ‘son of’ TV movie). Unfortunately it’s very weak stuff, with a vague plot, little wit, less gunplay and far too much eating that quickly outstays its welcome. Not the worst or dullest Italian comedy western by a long shot, but there’s only so much goodwill you can bring to the film before losing all hope that it’ll ever get any better. But it's still worth getting the disc for the original - just look on the sequel as a literal extra feature. The 2.35:1 transfers are both very impressive (although both films are the English dubbed versions only). Extras are limited to a good interview with Hill and Spencer, background notes, a sparingly used trivia track and a few frame grabs masquerading as a stills gallery.
The Nouveaux release of both THEY CALL ME TRINITY and TRINITY IS STILL MY NAME is the best I've seen. Picture is clear, it is widescreen and audio is great. Clearly some reviews are for other editions. If I had complaint it is for the titles containing trivia which pop up occasionally and for the life of me can't turn off.
That dosn't affect my rating because this release is what it says it is. I've baught several release over the years all terrible. This has been licensed.
I have not seen these two films for a very long time, they were as funny as I remember and had my friend and I laughing so hard we got stitches, I am very happy to have them in my collection, I think that they are a must have if you like comedic westerns. The quick draw scenes are just as I remember, I am now waiting for Nobody to arrive then I will have the best of Terence Hill as far as I am concerned that is.
