Prime Minister Honorable Gaston Brown has received the red carpet welcome to the 23rd summit of heads of state and the government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the people of the America, People's Trade Treaty. The meeting commenced earlier this afternoon in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas. The head of government was warmly greeted by president Nicholas Maduro at the presidential palace. Antiguan Abuda is among ten countries in Latin America and the Caribbean comprising the alliance which promotes solidarity and functional cooperation among its members. Prime Minister Brown is leading the twin island state delegation comprising housing and land minister the honorable Maria Brown senior foreign service officer Kurt Williams and ABS TV radio's director of news, sports and the current affairs the president of Cuba as well as the prime ministers of Dominica, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are also in attendance. Lia 2020 will soon be soaring through the skies after 2 E one four 5 jets landed at divisible international airport on Tuesday to complement its fleet. Chairman of Lia 2020 ambassador Davin Joseph was among officials to welcome the jets in grand style. He had this to say about the occasion. And in other news, British American Insurance Company Limited and Colonial Life Insurance Company Limited, Bakol, Policy Holders Group will make representation to the Caribbean Court of Justice on April 29 and 30 for more than 2000 policy holders from Antigua and Barbuda and the Grenada. The collapse of the insurance companies in two thousand nine resulted in losses of over $800 million dollars EC dollars to policy holders in Antigua and Wabuda, Dominica, Grenada, Monserat, Saint Kitson Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Barkold's policy holders which comprises of all private citizens represents approximately six hundred 600 million of that amount. In a press conference on Wednesday, president of Bakol, Doctor Patrick Antwine, ex explains that the case only represents policy holders of Antigua and Barbuda and the Grenada because both countries would have joined the grouping at its early stage. He added that Bakol could not have waited on the other countries to come on board as they would have already lost a lot of time. In taking their claim to court. He assures that the judges decision will however apply to policy holders across the board. The upcoming case is as a historic quest to obtain equitable treatment for registered policy holders across the OECS. The Trinidad and Tobago government had pledged the US $100 million dollars to deal with the fallout to Antigua and Barbuda policy holders. However, to date, only 40 million dollars of that amount has been paid. The master plan for the build out of the university of the West Indies five island campus has been selected for a major global accolade. The plan has been selected for a special citation for excellence in planning in a nuke of a new campus. The award is being conferred by the society of college and university planning in its 20twenty-four excellence awards.
