DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — It will be a celebration of the rich tradition of barbershop harmonies on an iconic stage in Vermilion County. Joining ciLiving from the Danville Barbershop Chorus are director, Marty Lindvahl, and spring show Chair, Eric Westfall to share all about their upcoming concert at the historic Fischer Theatre in Danville, Illinois “Doo Wop with Barbershop” featuring “Ba Na Na” from Purdue University as our special guest.

The mission of the Danville Barbershop Men’s Chorus is to promote and celebrate the rich tradition of barbershop harmony through musical excellence, community engagement, and camaraderie. We strive to inspire audiences, nurture talent, and foster a supportive environment where members can grow as musicians and individuals. Through our performances and outreach efforts, we aim to enrich the cultural fabric of our community and leave a lasting legacy of harmony and joy.

Danville Barbershop Chorus have grown the past seven years from a dozen members to an all-time high of 55 members. They have a member who has been in Barbershop for over 53 years.

Look out for the Danville Barbershop Chorus singing the Star-Spangled Banner at a Cub/Cardinal game at Busch Stadium for the sixth time on Friday, May 24th at 6:30 PM.

Invite men from our community to join us on Tuesday nights at St. James UMC in Danville Illinois. We will be singing two songs from our spring show,
“Breaking Up Is Hard To Do” and “In The Still Of The Nite.”

Every December, Danville Barbershop chorus donates their concert. Proceeds to various groups in Danville. We have donated between $5,000 to $8,000 each year to groups such as Fair Hop Children’s Ministry, Rose’s Feed The Children Program and The Dwelling Place.
