Murray State University Reviews
Rating 3.83 out of 5 1,380 reviews
Life at Murray State has been different for me, in the best way possible. I grew up in the Chicagoland area, and moving to a small community like Murray had me nervous. I knew I fell in love with the campus and the area during my tours, but over my last year here as a student, I learned there are so many other things to love in this quaint community. The small student population makes it incredibly easy to connect with your professors, and the professors here genuinely want to see you succeed. There are lots of academic resources that are helpful like our two libraries, free tutoring, and open office hours with your professors; and as a nursing student this is very appreciated. There truly is an uplifting community in Murray, and not only within the academic environment of this school. There are many extracurricular activities and ways to get involved with this loving community. For example, every other weekend my friends and I like to volunteer with the Calloway County Humane Society.
Murray State University is a great hometown vibe. If you aren’t looking for a huge change from small town or high school to college, MSU is probably going to be a pretty good fit for you. Murray caters to their students, and loves to provide anything beneficial for student life, there is just a very quiet feel to everything. I would recommend Murray State to anyone who wants to ease into college and social life, as opposed to diving in. I would give MSU 4 out of 5 stars personally, it is charming but very small.
Murray State University is a college that has a ton of positives to it, but like plenty other colleges can always improve. If you wish to attend a smaller campus that has tons of friendly professors across multiple degrees this is the place for it. The food is average I would say with a good diversity to it. One major downside of the college currently is the lack of good parking for a majority of students in their dorms.
