The biggest foreign carrier in Munich in terms o passenger numbers is Air Dolomiti.[5]
The airport is locatit 28.5 km (17.7 mi) northeast[2] o Munich near the auld ceety o Freising an is namit in memory o the umwhile Bavarie Prime meenister Franz Josef Strauss. The airport is locatit on the territory o fower different municipalities: Oberding (location o the terminals; destrict o Erding), Hallbergmoos, Freising and Marzling (destrict o Freising).
