      Critics Consensus

Mr. Nobody's narrative tangles may bedevil as much as they entertain, but its big ambitions and absorbing visuals make for an intriguing addition to director Jaco Van Dormael's filmography.

Tercy D I saw this movie 5 times and it's absolute 10/10 Masterpiece Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Bernardo N A pior experiencia cinematografia que ja tive o desgosto de ter. Obrigado Jered Leto Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review Blobbo X Asks plenty of interesting questions. Wanted to see it again to understand more of the plot, but not at 2 and 1/2 hours! I'd suggest taking out the mental illness scenes. Found them intrusive and unnecessary. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/24 Full Review David W While there are a lot of interesting concepts introduced in this story that go on to be unexplored, Mr. Nobody still delivers an engaging and thought-provoking experience. It's a film I would definitely watch again to decipher more of its meaning. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Audience Member Keeps you thinking and wondering which way would he go and which choice is better. Master piece in my eyes and definitely recommend to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/03/23 Full Review King "Mr. Nobody" is seriously a mind-bender of a movie. I mean, it's all about this guy, Nemo Nobody, who's supposedly the last mortal guy on Earth in the future, and he's telling the story of his life, but it's like, every possible version of his life all at once. It's really trippy stuff. What makes it even crazier is that the acting is just stellar, Jared Leto just nails it. But you've got to really pay attention or you're gonna get lost, there's so much going on and it bounces around different timelines and realities. And don't get me started on the cinematography, it's just gorgeous. Really visually stunning. The music too, it's haunting and really sets the mood. It's definitely not a flick for everyone though, you've got to be into those weird, thought-provoking kind of movies, but if that's your jam, it's definitely worth checking out. All in all, it's a beautiful mess of a film, but in a really good way. Totally blew my mind. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Michael O'Sullivan Washington Post Never mind that several characters seem to gain or lose British accents throughout the course of the film. The lack of continuity only enhances the sense of deliciously dizzying disequilibrium. Rated: 4/4 Oct 31, 2013 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg AV Club As philosophy, Mr. Nobody seems sillier than it is profound. But in a parallel reality, more movies would have this degree of insane ambition. Rated: B Oct 31, 2013 Full Review Jordan Hoffman ScreenCrush At the 44-minute mark (I checked) of 'Mr. Nobody,' I loudly sighed and asked, "Good God, when the hell is this movie going to START!" Rated: 3/10 Oct 31, 2013 Full Review CJ Sheu Critics at Large The plot, dealing with a branching personal timeline, is intricately complex yet masterfully coherent, despite what a few overworked film critics have written. Jun 30, 2020 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Daring sci-fi with mature themes, sex, and violence. Rated: 4/5 Sep 28, 2017 Full Review Zach Hollwedel Under the Radar [Writer-director] Van Dormael seems unsure of what exactly it is he's trying to say, and thus Mr. Nobody rambles on for nearly two and a half hours.
