Judy L Informative for me, a good dose of reality. A little difficult to follow, but non the less educational on Stalin. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Maik S True story about Gareth Jones, the journalist who (amongst others) witnessed and uncovered Stalin's famine in 1933. Obviously a dark and grim movie. And powerful. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Ben H See this movie. It is excellent and contains an extremely important message. Powerful people collude with other powerful people, and tell lies to the peasants. Gareth Jones worked tirelessly to expose the unbelievable evils of the Bolshevik Communists. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/24 Full Review Keith W I think the subject matter demands 5 stars. Orwell is the famous one but how many knew about the Welsh reporter Mr Jones? Totally convincing portrayal of the places and the period. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/06/23 Full Review Adrian S "Norton has good qualities. However the way they chose to film - uncolourful - almost dark - was a bit too much. Depiction of Ukraine familne was good. Princess Margaret was good - would have welcomed more on her story." from a lady viewer. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/29/23 Full Review Linda B I loved this movie; don't agree with the critics. Captivating, well acted. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Kevin Crust Los Angeles Times Though it's a shame that "Mr. Jones" is not more cohesive, the remarkable story of Gareth Jones retains its potency. Jun 22, 2020 Full Review Peter Travers Rolling Stone A disordered script cobbles this stirring indictment of Stalin's evil from director Agnieszka Holland. There are flashes of epic filmmaking, but the great movie that might have been remains frustratingly out of reach. Rated: 3/5 Jun 20, 2020 Full Review Tomris Laffly RogerEbert.com A compelling watch throughout in spite of its rambling feel. Rated: 3/4 Jun 19, 2020 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies “Mr. Jones” feels like a neglected slice of history that’s finally being exposed. Rated: 4/5 Aug 24, 2022 Full Review Dan Bayer Next Best Picture A compelling narrative told in a mostly un-compelling way.
