Meetings
Our chapter meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, September through May.
Our History
Celebrating over 120 years of service to the community, Mount Vernon Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in 1893 by Susan Riviere Hetzel in Alexandria, Virginia.
Behind the Name
The chapter was organized on the piazza at Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. Five daughters of John Augustine Washington, the last private owner of Mount Vernon, were charter members. Our chapter is the third Virginia chapter and the forty-eighth in the National Society.
