MEC calls for swift arrest of suspects in Hout Bay mass shooting
Community Safety MEC Reagen Allen urged Imizamo Yethu residents to help police with information that could lead to the arrests of the suspects behind a mass shooting on Wednesday.

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape MEC for Community Safety Reagen Allen has described a shooting which left five men dead and five others injured in Hout Bay as pure evil.
Police said serious and violent crime unit detectives were pursuing leads to apprehend the suspects who opened fire at the occupants of a house in Molokwane Street, Imizamo Yethu, on Wednesday night.
"These murderers must immediately be found. They do not belong in any of our communities. I have engaged the SAPS on this matter, and as I await further detail, I urge the service to make swift arrests."

Police said additional officers had been deployed in Hout Bay to prevent further violence.
Meanwhile, Allen urged the community to share information.
"Community members should not shy away from making information available to all law enforcement agencies, so that the thugs who committed the crime can have their day in court and rot in jail. As the Western Cape government, we will not allow heinous acts such as these to go unpunished."
Police said the motive for the violence was yet to be determined.
