Despite some good performances from its star-studded cast, Motherfatherson fails to present the dramatic range it aims to achieve.

Michael O A sprawling melodrama with no coherent center which is buoyed by a dedicated cast that brings a touch of realism to a lot of absurd dialog. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/28/24 Full Review M G Like Succession, shows you a family you would never want to be a member of for any amount of money. Has moments that are really interesting, but it was too much crippling depression for me. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/24 Full Review Debra S Excellent series with amazing stellar actors whose characters were real and raw! I was hoping for another season as I came to this one late. Not sure how I missed it but never the less as I look at the country now (America), so much of the ideology, national affairs and will of the people has confirmed that such a series is needed, especially after January 6th at this nations Capital! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/09/23 Full Review Janet B Takes a couple of episodes to warm up but it's a cracking series with fantastic acting and a great plot. Loved it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Not sure what rotten tomatoes is on about. The storyline of this is so unique and the acting is phenomenal. Jasper Rees Daily Telegraph (UK) Gere and McCrory are of course impeccable. Rated: 3/5 Jul 10, 2019 Full Review Gabriel Tate Daily Telegraph (UK) What could have been a tight, compelling and intimate four episodes was instead a distended, occasionally daft and pompous eight. Rated: 2/5 Jul 10, 2019 Full Review Sarah Hughes Guardian I feel that MotherFatherSon is walking the fine line with some flair and, I'm hoping for the sort of three-handkerchief finale in which every heartstring is shamelessly pulled. Jul 10, 2019 Full Review Lynden Barber Limelight What makes it compelling is the strained and often upsetting family triangle at its centre - two parents and their grown son, in a milieu of power and wealth that affects their emotions and relationships profoundly. Jun 22, 2020 Full Review Alberto Carlos Espinof It seems done with much more brain than with heart, which gives the story a certain coldness. [Full Review in Spanish] Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 13, 2020 Full Review Eleanor Bley Griffiths Radio Times Miserable and shocking as it may be, it made for powerful television.
