      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

While Moonlighting borrows too liberally from other screwball capers, it coasts by on Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis' fiery chemistry, with a high quotient of quality quips adding some tinder.

Nancy Banks-Smith Guardian There is a gentle sound of bells as your leg is pulled. Aug 11, 2021 Full Review Garrie Hutchinson The Age (Australia) There's a bit of quiet pizazz in their performances that is unusual for American television, and possibly only allowed because they are doomed never to sleep together. Aug 11, 2021 Full Review Jacqueline Lee Lewes Sydney Morning Herald The real star of the series is Bruce Willis, who plays Addison. The character is a real motor-mouth who is very, very funny. Willis plays him to perfection. Aug 11, 2021 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Unless you were a fan of the noir classics like The Thin Man, the overlapping, snappy banter between Willis and Shepherd was something that we had never seen on TV to that point. Oct 11, 2023 Full Review Michael Dougan San Francisco Examiner Moonlighting works as a comedy, but as a detective show it's got about as much life as that guy with the bruised schnoz. Whether the show makes a go of things will depend on which direction the writers choose to take it. Aug 11, 2021 Full Review Julian Barnes Observer (UK) Moonlighting was the week's most inane disappointment, a comedy-thriller which didn't work as either. Aug 11, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Pamela J I Loved ❤️this show as a young women of 27, Now I watched first one and thought it was bad dialogue silly slow, still so in love with both these actors I decided to watch second one, am probably hooked again. Some of the plot and dialogue is so 80's But with these two actors any dialogue couldn't stop me. They don't make actors like this anymore. Same with Dynasty accept Amazon charges to watch. Thank you Hulu for offering this show, I renewed my subscription so I could watch moonlighting! The SONG IS MAGNIFICENT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/27/23 Full Review Candi T I watched Moonlighting for the first time when I was 13. David Addison is responsible for the sarcastic adult I have become. I quote this show to this day. Bruce Willis is so smooth, smoldering and sexy that I giggle like a little school, even now. Moonlighting holds up as I rewatch on Hulu. I understand the adult stuff much better now, and love David even more than I did as a teenager. I still have the TV Guide with David and Maddie on the cover. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review Clarke My absolute favorite show when it came out. Smart, funny and touching. The chemistry and verbal banter and sexual tension between Cybill and Bruce really powers this show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Totally charming. Great chemistry between Maddie Hayes and David Addison. The theme music is wonderful as well. Sets the stage perfectly.
