Good live music here, friendly bartenders... Enjoy yourself here. Beware of next door though. Someone convinced us to go to the haufbrau next door before we went home for the night. It was unbelievably bad. This is not a dive bar, just a dive. It...smelled awful (I mean like urine and etc!), the bartenders are rude and ignore most people, except their regulars (I even saw them get hostile with a customer over nothing that I could see). It is an extremely crowded and small space so you end up smooshing past people constantly on the way in and out, to the bar, to the rest room... you see where I'm going? Multiple fights broke out before we were able to leave. Just the worst bar I've been to in my life!More

Comparing the other two bars in the “Barmuda Triangle”, this bar is “pretty classy”. And if you are a pool player …. You will be in heaven with the numerous pool tables there. Everyone is pretty friendly. Good place to check out the locals.

We had a few hours to kill before boarding our flight so we stopped in here. what a great spot. Drink prices are great with a large variety to choose from, fun games (darts, video games, slot machines, poker, pool) and the staff were very...friendly. Would definitely go again if in the area.More

I went to play poker and it was full..ok i get it but if the on the clock employees and other employees werent taking up seats then there would be room for outsiders. 4 of the 7 spots were taken by employees. From what I...understand and was told by other employees that they say table is full so the spots can be taken by their friends and I have a better chance of playing pool than getting on the table to play poker. I just had a beer and left. I wont be going back. The guys at the door were great.that was the only positive thing there and the male bartender. The older lady bartender was pushy and rude..More

Went to have one drink and watch the fight, and bartender knocked my half full drink on me and just threw a rag down and left for ten minutes. I cleaned up her mess myself, and she wouldn’t apologize or replace it and wanted to...charge me for another. She said it was my fault because I shouldn’t have set it “in her way” which was right in front of me on the bar. I’ve had rude service here multiple times, but had brushed it off before. I will not be returning, and if you’re looking for a bar to actually enjoy I suggest you go somewhere else.More

This was my third trip to the molly brown and the second time I have been turned away. They have more guys working security there than drinking in the bar.. after producing my Irish driving licence when asked for ID I was asked for my...passport.My passport! like I carry that into every dive bar I go to..Besides my driving licence is govt issue anyway. When I said I don't have it the bouncer smirked and asked how I got in the country! I live in DC! He goes on to say that most bars in the states won't accept foreign IDs unless it's a passport. It's the only bar I've been asked for ID as I look every bit of my 36 years! The one occasion I did actually get in to this complete kip of a bar I happened to have my passport as I just came from the airport. There were flies everywhere and the beer was warm in a dirty glass. Why did I even want to back u ask?More

Don't go here if you are from out of state!!! I am 24 years old from Mississippi. They thought my license was fake and confiscated my license. I had to wait for the police to arrive to get my driver's license back. And no, it...was not fake!!!! It was a valid license and I was not intoxicated or acting inappropriately.More

A landmark institution in downtown Bozeman. Basic, but lively, dive bar atmosphere with live poker on some nights, excellent beer selection, full bar service, great wait staff, pool tables, dart boards, and a few other games available. It is definitely the place to be seen...and to get blasted in downtown Bozeman. Extremely reasonably priced. Ask for a "StewPack." That might be all you need for the night.More

Came to the bar to hang out and get a drink, but mostly to see what the Poker situation was based on web searches. Enjoyed ourselves at this place for a couple hours! First of all, Molly Brown's is not in the middle of town...but easy to get to by foot. Once we walked in we immediately noticed the raucous crowd, billiards tables, shuffleboard table, slot machines, and tons-o-people around a large bar in the middle of the joint. It kinda reminded of a place where bar fights happen in the movies. However, after a few minutes in here (as with most places in Bozeman and Montana in general) we found that EVERYONE was very friendly and we felt right at home. The bar is easy to find, the restrooms are easy to find, the pool tables are easy to find, but where is the poker room? After all, that's why we came! Turns out there is a single lonely poker table in the place - that's right - just one. We sat down and there were only 4-5 other players, so naturally Molly Brown's is not about card playing. Why get a MT gaming license and only have one poker table? Oh well. Turns out the dealer was amazing at his job, and welcoming and friendly to us. We sat down with $200 each for limit $1/$2 hold'em. We would have been more than accepted sitting with $50 or $80, but we didn't know it was limit until the first hand. We stayed for about 2 hours, mostly because we enjoyed the vibe of the place, the music and most of all the awesome dealer. He was probably the best Hold'em dealer I've seen anywhere (and I like to visit card rooms everywhere). What made him so good you ask? Very fast, very accurate, knows the game extremely well, splits pots in a jiffy, and keeps the action moving while being funny and interesting too. A good dealer makes the game SO MUCH better, and Molly Brown's has the best. Tip him well if you go. Montana (and Bozeman) isn't necessarily known for a big poker scene, with card rooms and proper casinos everywhere. It's more of an "old west" bar with a card game here and there, which was fine by us. Great spot, thank you!More

This is one of the original "barmuda triangle" from college days. Played pool in here a million times, drank way too much everything at the Molly, heard a lot of great music live over the years, then contributed to playing live there many, many times...in the band that I've been in for 15 years. Cold beer on tap, bottle, can, however you want it. Friendly staff unless you are a drunk idiot, which there have been many of over the years, probably including myself... Live poker in addition to poker machines. Pool tables, darts, all the fun bar stuff. Not the easiest place to get in a fight but if you look hard enough I'm sure you'll find plenty of trouble. Stopped in the other day and saw someone sitting at the bar that I could swear I saw sitting there back in 1989. They've got regulars.More

One of three bars/pubs on the same block, and they managed to fill the open niches between themselves in a manner that almost made me think it was planned that way, but only almost. The three of them, Molly Brown, Scoops and Haufbrau has managed...the trick of existing without stealing each others customers in a brilliant way. The Molly Brown has more of the typical "road-house" bar with pools, full packed tables and eager bartenders, while Scoop had the "biker-bar" attitude, and Haufbrau were kind of swaying between the irish pub, and the german bierstube style. We went to all of the three, and took a liking in each of the places and their special attitude towards both style and customers.More
