Why doesn't Mojang allow us to put horses in boats?

Horses are a good transporting method midgame when you don't have elytras. They don't require any resourceful setup, are relatively fast and quite cheap compared to normal running. However, there's one thing that absolutely demolishes them as a transportation method: water. Or, to be more exact, lakes/rivers/oceans.

Dragging them with a lead over an ocean is such a heinous experience that even the worst masochists are engrossed by it. You have to constantly check if it's still intact and if it's not - stop in the middle of an ocean, pick it up and tie your horse again while you might have a risk of your miserable ass becoming a target for drowneds and guardians, or getting the lead yoinked by a dolphin.

It's such a tiny feature to just put horses in boats like any other mob. Hitbox complication? Make them sit like in that screenshot above, it's simple. They had this in Bedrock, but removed it for "Java compitability" instead of simply transfering it to the god damn Java (which is an entire separate topic).

I remember someone (could be a Mojang employee or just a regular player) stating that the feature of putting horses in boats messes up the "creativity", because you won't build bridges over rivers/lakes/oceans to cross them with your horse if you can just cross them with a boat, which not only sounds idiotic, but also contradicts the main point of a horse: transport with little to no setup.

I do not understand in the slightest why Mojang doesn't want to add this feature into the main game. It'd make the game so much less frustrating and give at least some boost for the horses. So, what do you think about this? Any counter-arguments?

Transported a horse yesterday for 4k blocks with a boat and a lead, worked perfectly, lead broke maybe 2 times..

even more obviously - just make it so they can swim.

they swim just fine in real life, there is really no reason why they should throw off the player the moment they touch water

I think I saw someone else say this a while ago, but it would be nice if at least the bamboo raft could carry the bigger animals. In my world I do a lot of overworld travelling, usually riding a mule (for the extra storage), and navigating rivers was the biggest frustration, right up until I started using camels! You still have to tow them across really big bodies of water, but the ability to completely jump over most rivers has been game changing for my pre-road travel They’re not super fast, but they do at least have two speeds (sprint button) Also it’s fun having a pet that feels a little more alive simply because it lies down sometimes

u used to be able to in bedrock but then they did “parity” removing it
