We came late however we were still able to explore the USS Alabama Memorial Park. They have huge collections of war machines such as Tanks, Artillery, Aircraft, Battleship & Submarine. The USS Alabama - The Heroine of the Pacific stands proud side by side with USS Drum a Submarine. There’s an admission to enter the Battleship and Submarine. They also have an SR-71 spy plane pretty cool.

We did not book a tour. We drove to the site and had a guided tour by a docent. The lady did a wonderful job. She had personal experience as she had been an attendant in an earlier Mardi Gras. The number of displays mostly costumes, was overwhelming. The prices in the gift shop were reasonable, and the price of admission was also reasonable.

Fantastic museum. So many hands on exhibits for ALL ages. Loved that it covered the whole Gulf -ecology, wildlife, industry, and shipping. I could imagine a family living spending hours here, we spent 3 hours and didn’t try all the exhibits 🤣

Well worth a visit while you're in Mobile. I was lucky enough to visit when they had a special exhibit titled "The Global Language of Headwear", a fascinating exhibit with hats from around the world. In addition to the history museum, I also enjoyed the Miniature Homes on display - these must be seen to be appreciated.

I loved my visit to the Conde-Charlotte Museum! I was welcomed at the door by a gracious docent, Lucille Badger, who was knowledgeable about the history of the house (and the area) and the beautiful antique furnishings. As she guided me through the rooms, and the kitchen and garden out back, she didn't seem to be delivering a memorized script as is often the case in museums and historic sites; instead, she invited my questions and paused whenever something caught my eye. She pointed out fascinating details about individual pieces of furniture, mirrors, light fixtures, etc., and marveled with me about the craftsmanship of the furniture makers. I was particularly impressed with how well-maintained, bright, and clean the museum is – there’s no dust on the furniture, the silver is polished, and even the candlewicks are trimmed. I can’t wait to return with visitors to Mobile!

The best tour of an historical house museum we have ever experienced! Beverly Collins was an exceptional tour guide and made our tour interactive and conversational. We liked that we were invited to sit on the furniture and handle the household objects. We had great fun examining vases, silver, photos, and learning about the people, their story and lives through the materials in the home. Barbara also contributed greatly with her vast experience and historical knowledge. Both women conveyed incredible passion about the Richards DAR House through their dedication to the subject matter and narrative talent.

Colorful street full of bars, taverns, restaurants and, I presume, shops but since we went in the evening any shops there were, were shut.
Had a nice dinner at Dumbwaiter and a stroll afterwards. Check it out.

I love the nature exhibits & the kids area was nice, like pop art. I came here with my sister, & another time alone. Thursdays are free for Mobile County residents, just show ID.

A lot of history here and we’ll worth the time. The guide did an excellent job describing everything. We arrived not on the hour when the next tour was going to start. But since no tour was in progress at the time, they went ahead and started a tour just for us. Very thoughtful.

There is a lot of cool historical things on display here, but it's pretty basic. Kids and history lovers will like it for sure. Since it's a recreation (not their fault, obviously) it would have been cooler had it been the actual location, etc. But still a cool place. Check out the Mardi Gras park right next to it and inexpensive parking lot too.
