This is the second time I have taken afternoon tea here and I can say the experience was again very good. The sandwiches were generally good, the chicken was the best. The egg mayo and peppers were our least favourite as the flavours didn't come...through, it was rather bland compared to the rest. The pastries are what make this afternoon tea special, the representations of Picasso artwork is very good visually and they taste good as well! Service was was very good, we never struggled to get their attention. The price is in the higher bracket for afternoon tea but overall a very nice time was spent here and it is highly likely that we will return again.More

I booked the mirror room last week for afternoon tea for 2 at 5 pm under my name and this was confirmed by telephone. However, when I arrived the receptionist claimed not to have my name on her list nor a reservation. It was only...after I prevailed on her to check that she said to me "Oh is someone joining you?" Obviously - I said - see reservation for 2...? Magically she then found the reservation and took me to the table where my husband was sitting waiting for me. Thereafter the service was faultless and although I would have liked an a la carte option and something hot and savoury, I wasn't disappointed with the presentation. The highlight were the reconstructed apples, each of which, except for the last, contained a surprise. The Gormley theme was fine, if a little over-emphasised. To truly make this a 5 star experience, I would suggest more professionalism at reception, and an a la carte option for those of us who don't want sweet overload. As we left there was another potential customer looking at the menu and asking for more information, and again she didn't seem to be very forthcoming or enthused with speaking to him.More

I had had the pleasure of having their Dom Perignon breakfast, and was delighted to have the opportunity to go for their very artistic version of this British tradition. The whole experience was simply amazing! The sandwiches, the scones, the pastries... the details and creativity...are exceptional. And the staff are truly and genuinely the most attentive and caring and impeccable! Special thanks to Andrea, Rebecca, and the hostess.More

Outstanding from start to finish. We were seated at a great table by very welcoming staff. We ordered a mix of one fruit breakfast plate and one full English breakfast along with juices, coffee’s and pastry’s. The food was amazing and cooked perfectly. The pastry’s...were beautiful and light with great flavour. The condiments that were in offer were very very good. And we must say the staff were brilliant. Faultless service along with fantastic food.More

Back for another visit to the rosewood london, this time for 4 days. Had breakfast in the mirror room each day and what I have to say is you couldn’t find a better breakfast dinning experience in london. The room, decor and table settings are...beautiful. Each day we were greeted by the hostess, a delightful young lady who was always smiling, with a very positive nothing is too much trouble attitude. She seated us every day, sorry I don’t have your name but thank you. To the servers and other staff in the mirror room you were all outstanding in your attitude, service and attentiveness, this does not go a miss or unnoticed, Once again thank you to you all. Not forgetting the food, this is nothing short of amazing each and every time we stay. So tasty and well presented on the plate makes it extra special each time you dine. From my family to you all thank you for making our stay so great ❤️More

We are very regular customers and have been staying and dining at the hotel for several years. Usually we enjoy afternoon tea and I used to think it was quite good value compared to other 5* hotels in London. I booked afternoon tea having not...gone for some time. I wish I had checked the prices as the cost of the afternoon tea is now absolutely insane. I actually feel a little upset to have discovered how much we paid today. Firstly we noted that the quality has significantly decreased. The sandwiches and scones are still good (the staff seem a little meaner when offering extra sandwiches compared to in the past). However, the cakes weren’t very high quality. They were all stodgy sponge-like cakes with very amateur-looking icing - it was almost funny how basic they looked. They all tasted pretty similar. I like yuzu but it was used in every other cake! The cakes tasted cheap and weren’t very creative compared to the past cakes. I won’t be having afternoon tea in the Mirror Room again as despite being wealthy, the prices are just ridiculous, especially after the very noticeable decline in quality. There is no way afternoon tea should cost that much. It’s a shame as the room is lovely and the tea selection is great as are the sandwiches. They also wanted to charge £50 I believe for my 4 year old who ate 1.5 finger sandwiches and two mouthfuls of cake! Thankfully they did agree to let him share ours after checking with someone more senior. In the past it has been no extra cost for very young children. The service was fairly good but not very warm. I’m not surprised that the restaurant was almost empty at the time (my husband had just told me that he overheard some hotel guests discussing the shocking price increase for afternoon tea and saying they would go elsewhere after I told him what we paid today). It’s such a shame a once truly luxurious hotel that did everything perfectly is squeezing customers so hard and not delivering in terms of quality. We also drank in the bar shortly after and it was pretty average with decent service. The new cocktail menu isn’t very interesting and frankly, it sucks compared with the old one which featured 3 blind mice, bubble and shrubs, sipping with Churchill etc. This was our favourite hotel but I’m not sure I want to return sadly…More

We only visit London occasionally and...I have been planning this trip for my daughters birthday for months. i have now been left in the situation where I can't book anything else because every where is full. The Rosewood must have known sooner than this that they could not my booking. I am very dissapointed.More

The most amazing high tea experience. Wow! Elevated and impressive. On the pricier side, but well worth every cent. They theme the experiences after different artists and infuse that into the food and the pastries. We had the Picasso theme and it was so wonderful. No...detail is lost here. The service is impeccable and the space is opulent and stunning. I can't say enough about how great this experience was. The bar has been raised and I fear others will all fall short!More

I had read reviews of afternoon tea at the rosewood hotel and seen the pictures of the mirror room, but none of it compares to actually dining there. Everything was first class! I chose to celebrate my birthday there and could not have chosen a...better place. The venue was amazing, the food exquisite and the service perfect from start to finish. I chose the dragon well tea, which was lovely, but the marco polo tea is the best. The sandwiches and scones were divine and the selection of cakes fantastic. We had the joy of being served by Assistant Manager Francisco J Martinez who was extremely helpful and friendly throughout. I will definitely be going back there!More
