His quality with the ball at his feet, his vision of the game and his football maturity make Pjanic one of the best current midfielders in the game

Born on April 2, 1990 in Tuzla (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Miralem Pjanić is a total midfielder. He began his career as a professional at French club, Metz, where he made his debut in 2007.

Despite being relegated, the Bosnian had a very good season and that saw him join Lyon's ranks. It's here that Pjanić began to make a name for himself on the international football scene. In fact, he was one of the cornerstones of the team that made history by reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in the 2009/10 season.

After three seasons with the French team, playing 115 games and scoring 16 goals, Pjanić headed to the Italian capital to play for Roma in 2011. With the Giallorossi team he achieved his best statistics at an individual level. During five seasons he played close to 200 games, scored 30 goals and delivered more than 40 assists. Titles, however, didn't arrive until 2016, when he became a new Juventus player. He was a fixture in one of the best teams in the world, and won four leagues, two Italian Cups and one Italian Super Cup with the Vecchia Signora.

In the summer of 2020, FC Barcelona reached an agreement with the Italian club for the transfer of Pjanić and in his first season as a blaugrana he made 30 appearances, winning the Copa del Rey title. For the 2021/22 season the Bosnian was loaned out to Turkish club Besiktas.

Despite playing in the youth ranks of the Luxembourg national team, Pjanic ended up developing his football career with the Bosnian national team, where he has become a national hero. The midfielder is the third player in history to have played the most games and their sixth all-time top scorer.

A total midfielder

He has played in practically every position in midfield. From being a central midfielder at Metz to one of the interiors at Lyon and Roma and consolidating as a pivot at Juventus. His late arrivals into the box and his excellent set pieces have seen him score seventy goals. His quality with the ball at his feet, his vision of the game and his football maturity make him one of the best current midfielders in the game.
