That's the job of FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench. They attempt to understand and catch serial killers by studying their damaged psyches. Along the way, the agents pioneer the development of modern serial-killer profiling. The crime drama has a strong pedigree behind the camera, with Oscar-nominated director David Fincher and Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron among the show's executive producers. Valerie Anne Autostraddle While Mindhunter's criminal storylines are more suited for people just dabbling in true crime for the first time... its queer storyline was something a little more unique, beautifully portrayed by two powerhouse actresses. Oct 29, 2021 Full Review Olivia Cole Bitch Media Unless season two lines up more dominoes relating Holden's white maleness to that of the killers he profiles to make a larger statement about the violent nature of white masculinity in America, there's nothing new to see here, folks. Mar 2, 2021 Full Review Troy Patterson New Yorker At first glance, this drama-based on an F.B.I. agent's memoir, created by Joe Penhall, and frequently directed by David Fincher-was handsome, twisty, and punishingly blunt. But the after-image is richly unsettling. May 9, 2020 Full Review Michael Cuby them. Mindhunter was one of the best shows of 2017. Nov 1, 2022 Full Review Randy Schiff Buffalo News Jonathan Groff anchors the show with his riveting performance as the cerebral Agent Holden Ford, an earnest, confident and socially awkward innovator. May 22, 2020 Full Review Carey-Ann Pawsey Orca Sound It is a series about the FBI and serial killers. The beginning of the intertwining of the two. Chris B I've never had a show grip and hook me in deeper with such a uncomfortable topic. I was intrigued, excited, and anxious on every episode. The bar is set high with this Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/10/24 Full Review Ryan B Truly excellent telling of the beginning of the profiling of serial killers and just how truly complex and twisted they are. The portrayals of the killers themselves is excellent and the actors deserve many plaudits for being able to get across on screen just how unnerving it must have been to interview these people. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/07/24 Full Review Cidal K Timeless classic at this point. A truly grand retelling. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Luka R Eexcellent seeing how it started how it was created the talking to violent offenders to gleen important info was brilliant. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Alexey V superb show, beautifully debunks the myth of "some people born evil". Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Savannah G Solid Crime Show based on real events and stories. The characters were fantastic, and the Character Development was really strong. It really focused on the actual work that was put into creating this division of the FBI, and they didn't sensationalize it with too many extra side stories. I enjoyed each episode and the conversations that were played out between all the characters! Really Enjoyed Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
