Director Brad Anderson (Session 9, The Machinist) will unleash monsters from another dimension in the upcoming World Breaker, set to star Milla Jovovich (Monster Hunter, the Resident Evil franchise) and Luke Evans (Dracula Untold, No One Lives). Deadline reports that filming is now underway on the sci-fi survival thriller.

Brit-French newcomer Billie Boullet joins the cast as the daughter to Milla Jovovich and Luke Evans’ characters. Mila Harris (No Exit) is also included in the cast, in an undisclosed role.

In the upcoming World Breaker, “Five years ago, a tear in the fabric of reality brought creatures to our world from an alternate dimension bent on our destruction. A father hides his daughter on an island to keep her safe while he prepares her for survival and the battles to come.

“But when the world is about to break, no place is safe.”

Joshua Rollins (Infinite Storm) wrote the screenplay.

The Exchange is launching international sales rights on the sci-fi action film, and will “introduce the title to international buyers at AFM with the producers retaining domestic rights.”

“Brad consistently crafts theatrical thrillers with fantastic performances. We know he will deliver a very commercial and entertaining movie and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce buyers to his vision of World-Breaker,” said Nat McCormick of The Exchange previously.

World Breaker is filming now in Northern Ireland. Stay tuned for additional details as they arrive.

Sleepy Hollow movie

Paramount is heading to Sleepy Hollow with a brand new feature film take on the classic Headless Horseman tale, with Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines) announced to direct the movie back in 2022. But is that project still happening, now two years later?

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know this afternoon that Paramount Pictures has renewed its first-look deal with Lindsey Anderson Beer, and one of the projects on the upcoming slate is the aforementioned Sleepy Hollow movie that was originally announced two years ago.

THR details, “Additional projects on the development slate include… Sleepy Hollow with Anderson Beer attached to write, direct, and produce alongside Todd Garner of Broken Road.”

You can learn more about the slate over on The Hollywood Reporter. It also includes a supernatural thriller titled Here Comes the Dark from the writers of Don’t Worry Darling.

The origin of all things Sleepy Hollow is of course Washington Irving’s story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” which was first published in 1819. Tim Burton adapted the tale for the big screen in 1999, that film starring Johnny Depp as main character Ichabod Crane.

More recently, the FOX series “Sleepy Hollow” was also based on Washington Irving’s tale of Crane and the Headless Horseman. The series lasted four seasons, cancelled in 2017.
