Zara Tindall's daughters, Mia Grace and Lena Elizabeth, and son, Lucas Philip, are some of the British royal family's cutest members.

The only daughter of Princess Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, Zara is the oldest granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth and niece of King Charles. She’s also the first cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry. However, unlike some of her cousins, Zara and her older brother, Peter Phillips, do not have royal titles — a decision made by their parents so that they could live somewhat normal lives.

"I think it was probably easier for them, and I think most people would argue that there are downsides to having titles," Princess Anne told Vanity Fair in 2020. "So I think that was probably the right thing to do."

Zara shares three children with her husband, former professional rugby player Mike Tindall, whom she wed in 2011. Their first daughter, Mia, was born in 2014, followed by their second daughter, Lena, in 2018 and their son, Lucas, in 2021. Following the birth of their third child, Mike described parenthood as a “massive shock” that changed their relationship.

“A marriage or long-term relationship can't always be roses and rainbows," he said during a 2021 appearance on the ITV talk show Loose Women. “When you have children, that is a massive shock, change to your system that you've never experienced, and there is going to be those rocky roads.”

He added, “There are things that are thrown at you that have to test both of you and that will test that relationship. The thing is no one is right, no one is wrong. You have to work through it together."

Zara told PEOPLE in 2023 she has introduced her children to one of her passions: horseback riding. The family has been photographed supporting Zara at several equestrian events over the years.

Here’s everything to know about Zara Tindall’s three kids: Mia Grace, Lena Elizabeth and Lucas Philip.

Zara and Mike’s first child, Mia Grace Tindall, was born on Jan. 17, 2014, at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in Gloucestershire, England. Mia is currently 22nd in line to the throne, directly behind her mother. Like Zara, Mia and her siblings do not have royal titles.

“Thanks so much for all your kind messages,” Mike tweeted when Mia was born. “Definitely the best day of my life today, so happy.! The girls are both doing great!”

Mia is the eldest child of Zara and Mike, but when she was born, she already had some royal cousins: Uncle Peter Phillips’ daughters, Savannah and Isla, and Prince William and Kate Middleton’s son, Prince George.

“We’ve got a good little crew of royal youngsters going on there now,” Mike told Hello! in 2016. “They all seem to get on and enjoy each other’s company, and it’ll be good to watch them grow up together.”

When Zara had a miscarriage, she and her husband credited Mia for helping them get through the difficult time.

“The saving grace for us has been Mia, our daughter who is now 3,” Mike told The Sunday Times in May 2017. “However down we feel, she will come running up in our faces. When I was playing, I hardly saw her; now we can see her grow up. I can take her swimming, and I can take her to Ninja Tots. You’ll never be able to see her there because she disappears in a puff of smoke.”

As she’s gotten older, Mia has taken part in some official royal events. In 2018, she was a bridesmaid in Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank. She also captured royal fans' hearts in December 2022 for messing around with Prince George when the royal family attended a Christmas church service at Sandringham.

The next year, Mia and her cousins stole the show again during the royal family's annual Christmas outing. She was seen holding hands with Prince Louis and received flowers from Princess Charlotte and the Princess of Wales.

Zara and Mike’s second child, Lena Elizabeth Tindall, was born on June 18, 2018, in Stroud, England, near the family’s home in Gloucestershire. She is currently 23rd in the line of succession. While Lena’s middle name pays homage to her great-grandmother, her first name — which is pronounced “Lay-na” — was chosen just because Zara and Mike liked it.

“Mrs. Michael Tindall was safely delivered of a baby girl on 18th June,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement at the time. “Mr. Tindall was present at the birth. The weight of the baby was 9lbs 3oz.”

Zara publicly shared that she had two miscarriages prior to welcoming Lena. “You need to go through a period where you don’t talk about it because it’s too raw but, as with everything, time’s a great healer,” Zara told the U.K.'s Sunday Times in 2018.

Soon after Lena’s birth, Mike spoke to PEOPLE about life with two children. “It’s been brilliant so far,” he said. “So far, so good. I can’t complain. [Lena] eats, sleeps.”

Like her older sister, Lena has made some appearances alongside her famous family. As a baby, she sat for a photo with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and their great-grandchildren. Lena has also already made headlines for her style: In 2022, she wore a red coat that was previously worn by her cousin Isla while at Sandringham for Christmas.

The youngest member of the Tindall family is Lucas Philip Tindall, who was born on March 21, 2021. Lucas’ middle name is in honor of both Zara’s grandfather Prince Philip and Mike’s father, who is also named Philip. On top of that, Zara’s maiden name is Phillips. Lucas is 24th in line to the throne.

While Lucas’ sisters were both born in hospitals, he arrived in an unexpected place: the family’s bathroom. “A little baby boy arrived at my house!" Mike said on his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, soon after Lucas’ birth.

The former athlete said that Zara’s friend was with them and realized they wouldn’t have time to get to the hospital for the birth. “So, it was run into the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get a mat on the floor, towels down, 'brace-brace-brace,’ ” he recalled. “Fortunately, the midwife, who was going to meet us at the hospital, wasn't that far away, so she drove up, got there just as we'd assumed the [position]. And then the second midwife arrived just after the head had arrived."

The Tindall kids are close with their cousins, and Lucas shared an important moment with one family member not long after he was born. In November 2021, Lucas and August Brooksbank (Eugenie and Brooksbank's first son) were christened at the same time, and Queen Elizabeth — who had recently faced health setbacks — and other family members attended the religious ceremony. “It was a lovely day," Mike said on his podcast.

Like his siblings, Lucas has already gotten an up-close look at his mother’s equestrian skills. In April 2022, the whole family watched Zara compete at the Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials. He's also been dubbed his father's mini-me after he was photographed sitting on Mike's shoulders during one of Zara's riding competitions in August 2023.
