Od poloviny listopadu můžete v Serengeti potkat menší a větší skupiny pakoňů, zeber a gazel, které se ještě nedávno účastnili tzv. Velké migrace do Keni. Postupně se vracejí a zaplňují nejen Serengeti, ale okolí kráteru Ngorongoro (leden až duben) a dokonce i Tarangire (březen až květen).
From mid-November, you can meet smaller and larger groups of wildebeests, zebras and gazelles in the Serengeti, which until recently took part in the so-called Great Migration to Kenya. Not only the Serengeti, but the surroundings of the Ngorongoro Crater (January to April) and even Tarangire (March to May) are gradually returning and filling.

WOW!! A childhood dream fulfilled. I can't tell you how good our experience was. I am in awe of this area. The rawness of Africa gives me so much pleasure. I just loved our 2 day safari in this vast expanse. Throughout it I heard David Attenborough's voice as if it was on TV.. The baby zebra and wildebeast had been born and were gathering on the southern plains waiting until they gathered strength to travel. It was utterly amazing. I saw a servel cat which I had always dreamed of along with the big 5 and so many cheeteahs that we lost count, Can't recommend this place any higher

We went there last week (july 2021) and we saw thousands of gnoes crossing the river Mara (4 crossings in two days). It was really spectacular. A must see in the Serengeti parc!
All guides are constantly in contact with eachother so if anyone observes a possible crossing, everyone is warned!

The migration of animals crossing the Mara River in Serengeti National Park Tanzania is one of the great experiences for any traveller. We stayed at Alex Walkers Serian Camp, a wonderful experience on its own. Their knowledgeable guides put us in perfect positions to see the wildebeests river crossings up close. Photos and videos can’t capture this spectacle with the sights, sounds and multiple dramas playing out between predators and prey. All happening in front of the majestic backdrop of the Serengeti plains. Watching the sun rise over the Serengeti as you have breakfast is unforgettable.

This is one unbelievable Wildlife Sighting! Even those who are familiar with wildlife and game drives can hardly anticipate what this spectacle is all about. Surrounded by millions of animals moving around frantically, this is one experience that has to be seen to be believed. We witnessed this in May 2022 at Serengeti and completely overwhelmed. Although the migration is predominantly about Wildebeests and Zebras, there are many other animals and birds around. We also saw the migration moving across a stream. To put it in simple words, don't miss this if you are in Serengeti.

Not long after we entered the gate to Serengeti National Park we witnessed a zebra migration of about 6,000 animals. Stretching across the horizon line, it was truly amazing to see so many animals on the move. We also witnessed a wildebeest migration. / After Tarangire and Lake Ndutu it seemed that it took longer to spy animals in the Serengeti grasslands, but the 'Hide and Seek' was fun. My husband especially liked the cheetah and leopard and my granddaughter loved the hippos at the hippo pool.

We saw leopards and lions with cubs, families of elephants and giraffes, hyenas, serval cats and 100s of thousands of wildebeast and zebras as well as dozens of other animal species. The Mara river crossing is a spectacle that everyone should see in their lifetime. The wide open plains and the incredible rock outcroppings were spectacular in and of themselves and the sunrises and sunsets were awe inspiring.

I have been to the Serengeti twice, back last November during the migration and again in February of this year after the migration headed north. Both times, there were lots of animals, although the grass is taller in February and it is a little tougher to see the animals. Saw a big 5 both times, I think the November trek was the most impressive with the tens of thousands of wildebeests and zebras. We did see numerous small cats during February. This is a Must See if you come to Tanzania!

Watching the wildebeest gather by the thousands, and make the first step down the riverbank was absolutely astounding. They looked like a river if animals flowing down to the water. I would make every effort to witness this marvel of nature. You won’t regret it.

An early start with Sisty our guide and driver from Rickshaw Travel Ltd, had us on the short drive from Lemala Kuria Hills to the Mara River, to find the Wilder Beast, and without fail he soon found the first crossing... a most memorable lifetime experience. Not to be satisfied with just one crossing we saw three during the day with the added bonus of seeing a crocodile take one animal out of the herd and head down stream to its hiding place. It really was a sight to behold. A picnic lunch on the banks of the River Mara enjoying the sounds of Hippo in the water.. continuing our day we found lions, and many other animals and birds before returning to the lodge. A word or warning... waiting to see a crossing takes patience, you have to be prepared to sit and wait maybe two hours in one place... they don't cross at specific times or on demand !
