It's the production company. I love that CR is using in game names for all their legal entities:

  • Metapigeon - Production Company

  • Gilmore Glorious Goods - Merch & some books/comic books

  • Darrington Press - Tabletop/Publishing company

  • Scanlan Shorthalt Music - Song credit for "It's Thursday Night"

Does that mean the pigeon is all beat up because that’s what the dm did to it?

They wave their hands around and tell the pigeons to shoo.

The name is probably also a joke about the behind-the-scenes voices urging the main people (like Titmouse) on what choices to make.

Metapigeon is a joke that started in C2,

Anyone: "Don't forget--"

Matt: "You're not there!"

Sam/Laura: Pigeon coo"Don't forget the thing"pigeon coo

It's actually quite brilliant in a way... gives them legal protection for the content of the game. Plus they have to know we ALL love it 🧡💚💙

So a while back someone brought up the fact that Critical Role trademarked metapigeon. At the end of the LoVM credits this pops up right before titmouse.. so I'm thinking Critical Role may have their own animation studio

Edit: could also be their own Voice Over company

I think it's just Critical Role's production entity, rather than an "animation studio". Just like any logomark appearing before the credits in a movie.

Yes, same with “Darrington Press” being their book publication arm.

Correct, it seems to be Critical Role Production LLC’s production company for LoVM.

Caw caw. As about what it means.

I like the metapigeon but I don't get why it's all beaten up.

I feel like the bruised appearance adds to the design and, to me, associates the logo with action/adventure. That pigeon has seen a dragon or two. Otherwise it would just be a boring pigeon.

I noticed it chirped at the end of episode 9. Did it always chirp?? I usually skip to get to the next episode faster so I haven't seen it since ep 1 haha. Also was that Matt doing the chirp?

I would so rock a Metapidgeon crew member tee-shirt!

Best inside joke ever.
