"Camp: Notes on Fashion" is this year's Met Gala theme, and no, we're not talking s'mores and Girl Scout cookies. Camp is the most extra and over-the-top you can muster. Bring on the feathers, the rhinestones, the prints, and the tackiness. It's all fair game with this year's theme and the stars were definitely delivering the drama. Gaga gave us not one, not two, but four different outfit changes. Billy Porter made one of the most dramatic entrances as he was carried in by six shirtless men dressed in gold, while he was wearing a gold sequined catsuit with large gold wings. Harry Styles wore heels and channeled The Girl With a Pearl Earring. Hailey Bieber served us looks with a high ponytail, cat eye, and a thong.
Yes, Bieber showed us her thong. From the front, she gave us modern-day Barbie vibes in this beautiful light pink, long-sleeve sequin gown by Alexander Wang. It seemed she had taken a safer route until she turned around and you saw the back of her dress, which featured a low back and an exposed thong. *church mom gasp*
The thong was the same light-pink shade as the gown, but rather than sequins, it was made of a satin material. Right in the middle, above her butt was the word "wang" in large, sequined letters, obviously referencing the designer. The dress definitely gave us some business-in-the-front and party-in-the-back vibes.
Her hair and makeup were absolutely stunning as well, pairing a classic and elegant cat eye with a shimmery pink highlight. A simple, high ponytail tied with a black bow and slightly curled ends complemented the dress. Bieber showed us that you can mix classic vibes with questionable early-2000s trends and still slay on the red carpet.
