Ian R Any film with Zoe Bell I'm up for it, but this definitely wasn't one of her finest, but still watchable, Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Varun For a B-grade movie this one has heart, likeable characters, good performances, decent action sequences, overall average story but worth watching once. (Women kicking ass, it was better than Charlie's angels both early 2000s & reboot) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/12/24 Full Review Peter P C-grade movie with some decent amount of action, even if it's very basic, and at the end some very cheap CGI. Of course the cast is interesting. Brigitte Nielsen sure owns it as the over the top villain. Kristinna Loken also has some good scenes and Vivica Fox has some fun. Cynthia Rothrock unfortunately doesn't have any action scenes. Zoe Bell has the physical skills, but is lacking the necessary charisma to carry this movie. Second star here only because of Nielsen and Loken, but better avoid this movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review victor o I remember when the TV show CSI was made the producers immediately set themselves to work on making spin-off series. Why? They knew that their show was popular, and they knew that eventually others would steal their style, so in the end, they felt that they should flood the market with Miami, New York, Cyber, etc. In this case, the producers of the Expendables were willing to accept the rip-offs and this movie is one of them. Expendables, a great film franchise based on the great action movie stars from the 1980s to the present day. Icons like Stallone, Lundgren, Schwarzenegger, Willis, Van Damme, Norris, Ford, Gibson and so much more dominated the franchise. Several of the best men but not so much in the category of women. Someone decided to make a movie of some of the most iconic female action stars in the same style as the Expendables and set it into a story of its own. The First Daughter has been kidnapped by a female warlord in an Eastern European country and wants recognition of her rule by the United States. The US does not negotiate with terrorists, but they cannot just send the military to save the day. They bring in an expendable set of female criminals with the skills to save the First Daughter. The story is simple while trying to be complex, but the writing is weak, and it is relying on star power alone. There is only one problem with that, there is not that many great stars in this movie. If anything, it feels more like a part of and not an entire constellation. Most of these actresses did dominate the 80s and 90s with some modest action films but some of them are not strong enough to have been considered iconic. Zoe Bell is a decent actress and great looking but the only credit to her name has been being a stunt double to Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, hardly on the same level as Stallone's work. Kristanna Loken has dominated a few films before even going toe to toe with Schwarzenegger. Vivica A. Fox was the Deadly Viper Squad Cottonmouth in Kill Bill but that is all. Cynthia Rothrock dominated the straight to video market in the 80s and 90s and is worthy. Brigitte Nielsen has been a leading lady to Schwarzenegger and Stallone as well as being a hard-core villainess in other's works. Nicole Bilderback is great looking but the only thing I have seen her in was in Bring It On, hardly action material. I would have toured the 1980s film vaults and got great action stars like Sigourney Weaver, Linda Hamilton, Uma Thurman, Sandahl Bergman, Kate Beckinsale, Carrie Anne Moss, Ming-Na Wen, and other great stars. But this is direct to video and not on the same level of Expendables. An inspired idea but it falls flat on its face. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Low budget, cheesy, but fun action movie. Kinda Expendables, but more like The Dirty Dozen, or Soldier Boyz. There is nothing to hate about this movie, the special effects are funny, there action, jokes, etc. Worth watching. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Basically a dumb plot, with average acting, the girl squad is good but the rest is weak, suffers for average directing and a repetitious seen before story line. Could not get to the end as had better things to do ... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
