I have this album for CD RVG edition too. I can’t listen any more after listening this pressing, which is much more warmer, richer, and balanced.

Incredible pressing - flat, quiet, centered, KG remastered, & AAA. We are so spoiled right now, so many amazing reissues.

While I am a humble jazz padawan, my favorite part of the journey so far has been Clifford Brown. I have heard some argue he is one of the architects of hard bop or others ask had he not died at such a young age would Davis have had the impact he did?

I am too new to argue these questions but I do know that every time I pick up a Clifford Brown release I learn something new. I love his energy as much as his melodies - this sonically brilliant reissue is a must own!

This is my first vinyl copy of this album. I did not expect a 70 year old recording to sound THIS good This AAA pressing sounds amazing! Great price, essential record, must own if you don't have a copy.

Just a crystalline pressing! Kevin Gray knocked this out of park. “Hymn Of The Orient,” “Cherokee,” “Wail Bait” and “De-Dah” are my faves, but every composition on this Blue Note Classic Brownie album is blistering and is a must have in the collection!

Excellent music and a pressing that really does it justice. Easy Living and You Go To My Head are sublime.

Perfect vinyl, not one second of noise and no defects. Great mastering. Superb.

Really fine job with this 1953 mono recording (I would avoid any stereo reissues, as they would have to have been artificially re-channeled and this never produces a satisfactory sound). This sounds as good as anything I've ever heard from around that time. A steal for $27.00.
The performances are invaluable. Brown was only around for a few years, but he was already the top trumpet virtuoso of his day by the time of his tragic early passing. He was not plagued by many of the "personal problems" that hindered so many of the jazz greats of this era, and as a result he was remarkably consistent on record. The supporting players are fine as well (though not as good as those he would soon join up with), but Brownie is clearly the star on these recordings. You cannot have a serious jazz collection without some Clifford Brown in it. The Max Roach groups, especially the one with Sonny Rollins, are probably the place to start, but you can't go wrong with this release.

i've had both early mono and (later) stereo copies of this early BN comp, and have always enjoyed both (even considering the age of the recording). This, however, brings everything into focus, and is remarkably well-balanced and fresh sounding. the ability to hear all these now 70+ year-old recordings in such high fidelity (at a low cost) is entirely satisfying.

A great Music Matters mono reissue. Music is of course legendary. Sound is absolutely fine, no distortions, no clicks or pops, no such ripping as described below audible by my ears. (Played with Miyajima Spirit Mono cartridge and listened to with floor standing speakers.) Pressing quality leaves nothing to be desired.
Highly recommendable.
