<p>Herrin – Loudene (Propes) Strunk, 94, went to be with her Lord on April 25, 2024.</p><p><br></p><p>Loudene retired after 20 years as the manager of Midwest Brush, a division of Diagraph-Bradley.</p><p><br></p><p>Loudene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Herrin, where she taught 3 year olds for 25 years. She loved to travel, taught AGAPE Ladies Sunday School Class, was the Assistant Director of the Senior One Adult Department, member of the Jean Shepard Mission Group, a former Girl Scout leader with the Shagbark Council, volunteered for the Herrin Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and member of the Red Hats. She also attended many Bible study classes and served on many committees at the church.</p><p><br></p><p>Loudene was born January 12, 1930 in Herrin, IL to Thomas Mann and Laura Mae (Walker) Propes.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving are her children, Mike and Paula McSpadden of Benston Grove, TX, Pat and Fred Calcaterra of Herrin, Valerie and Larry Allen of Eldorado, Lori and Billy Mercer of Evansville, IN; five grandchildren, Ben Calcaterra of Herrin, Chuck and Denise McSpadden of Mattoon, Sarah Ueleke of Mattoon, Ricky Ward of West Frankfort and Tate Mercer of Nashville, TN; six great grandchildren, Isabella, Cooper, and Chloe Calcaterra of Herrin, and Calin and Micah Ueleke of Mattoon, Ricky Joe Ward of West Frankfort, IL, Caylie Kielhorn and Markas Kielhorn of Mattoon, IL; two nieces, Terri Wolf of Phoenix, AZ and Heidi Wolf of Colorado; nephew, Bruce Wolf and his wife, Tonya of South Dakota; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Nancy Garavalia of Herrin and Linda Payne of Herrin and her beloved pet dog, Toby.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Anna Merl and Mike Wolf, her step-father, Frank Tregoning, and niece, Lynn Bartle</p><p><br></p><p>Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2024 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Mark Goldman officiating. Interment will be in Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested and may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1500 South 13th Street, Herrin, IL 62948; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.</p><p><br></p>
