Food was absolutely delicious! Chicken and eggnog waffles w/strawberry butter was everything. Nice size portions. Close to Central Park so you can walk it off afterwards. Highly recommend.

I came from ATL to celebrate my birthday with my first Broadway show and to have an awesome dinner. Melba’s did NOT disappoint! Kenny, our server, was amazing as well. The host, I didn’t get his name, was extremely nice and courteous as I waited for my party to arrive. I will visit this establishment every time I come to NY now. Thanks for making my 40th birthday dinner a special one!

For Me Melba’s did not live up to the hype. The food was just okay. I had the oxtails, peas and rice, yams, mac and cheese, and collard greens. The oxtails were not seasoned I had to put a lot of hot sauce on them so they to tasted like something. The collard greens had to much sugar in them(I’m from the south) the peas and rice was scorched like they scraped the bottom of the pot and put them on my plate. The yams and the mac and cheese was on good.

If ever in the Manhattan area you should definitely make it to Melba's. The food is excellent. A little noisy but great vibes from the entire staff.

The best soul I’ve ever had from a restaurant! I can’t wait to get back to NYC just to come to Melba’s!!! I highly recommend this if your’re in Harlem!

Life long Harlem resident first time at Melba s Fast service, food came out hot and nicely presented. The best surprise was all of our food was good and we will definitely go back again.

We arrived an hour early and LUCKY for us we were seated right away :-) The restaurant was packed! The front Host was really friendly followed by our waitress. Ambience was very nice we ordered cocktails and an appetizer, thought it will be a long wait restaurant was packed, needless to say appetizer came out quickly (I would have preferred my wings hot (temperature hot) they were room temperature but tasty. For the main course my fiancé ordered the BBQ Short ribs with yams and Mac &Cheese he LOVED IT!!! I ordered the Chicken&Waffle it was good. The Birthday Song/Shoutout Stevie Wonder style was exceptional!!! Thank you in making my fiancé's birthday dinner a good one!

We enjoyed our visit to Melba’s. The service was a little slow, but the waitress was very friendly. We had the oxtails and crabcakes. The crabcakes were OK, but the oxtails , rice and peas and greens were amazing. Our drinks were very good too. For dessert we had sweet potato pie and coconut pineapple cake. The pie was pretty good. The coconut pineapple cake was delicious. Would definitely come back the next time I’m in New York to try other dishes.

My dinner was absolutely delicious and the service was quick. I would certainly dine there again. The server counted my change and stood at the table, and that was the only thing I disliked about my experience. I will always tip well but don’t count my change and linger at my table.

For lunch our waiter was very nice. He helped us with our beverage and food selection. We both had peach lemonade. I ordered the catfish with mac&cheese and collard greens. My brother ordered the chicken and waffles. We both enjoyed our meals.

Arrived 10 mins early for our reservation. Two parties checked in after us and one part of 4 who we heard tell the host they had no reservation. Host seated the party of 4 with no reservation ahead of those with reservation.

Had a great time with my family and that was in part to the staff. From the host that sat us , to the singing server, the barkeep, and others. Food was excellent. We went with a Tapas or strictly appetizer selection. Food was great tasting and eye opening. To my peaked curiosity, the reimagined Spring Rolls were Southern Comfort Food in crispy, fried Southern meets East , bites. The Calamari was fresh, not rubbery, wings on point and the handful was of catfish strip so hot and flavourful we ordered them twice.

Support black businesses and owners. The sides outshine the main dishes. Stick with softdrinks versus cocktails. Fresh, fast service so separate your appetizers from mains if you want time in between.

Plus: easy location to get to, nice background music and liked art displayed. Negative: food while flavorful was served cold- had to send back and still wasn’t right after 2nd attempt to correct. Food arrived from kitchen before beverage, felt rushed, server was neither helpful nor attentive.

We had a delicious meal at Melba’s. We both had the short ribs with collard greens and yams. My son had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Fruit punch was on point. Most of all our beautiful server Olay treated us like family. She always goes above and beyond to please her customers. Thanks so much for our family Sunday gathering.
