Show Your Commitment to School AttendanceIt’s time to show your commitment to school attendance by joining our education partners at the Columbus Crew for Black & Gold Attendance Spirit Week, May 6 – 10.
The week will be filled with dancing, friendly competitions, goal setting, and dress-up themes to celebrate the CREW as it prepares to host one of the MLS Marquee Matches on May 11, as the Crew takes on FC Cincinnati, highlighting Ohio’s best soccer teams and our continued commitment to attendance.

Beatty Park’s first trip to PBJ Connections Horse Farm was a success!
Our students are taking part in a 10-week program in which they will be working with therapy horses to learn leadership skills, build self-esteem, and increase positive communication. We can't wait for next week!

Students Hopped Into Good Books During The 2024 Spring Reading Challenge
During spring break, Columbus City Schools students participated in the Hop Into A Good Book! Scholastic LitPro Spring Reading Challenge. The challenge encouraged them to pick up a book during their week off from school. Students rose to the challenge and read a combined 10,227 minutes.

Fifth-Grade Chess Whiz: Daniel Martin Takes Second in State Chess Championship
Daniel Martin Jr., a fifth-grade student at Huy Elementary School, recently competed in the 2024 Ohio Elementary Chess Championship in Cleveland scoring outstanding achievement at the state championship in the game of chess.

Columbus City Schools is proud to have an incredible leadership team that works behind the scenes to provide a strong educational environment for all students and staff.
