Tamarind always a favourite restaurant in London. Keep coming back for many years. Not the traditional Indian Restaurant but great. Excellent food, Very good service. Highly recommended to those who like good Indian food in a modern environment.

We had very high expectations for this restaurant having been recommended it by friends The ambience was ok the food was good but def a bit lacking in flavour and had no wow factor at all except the kale salad and the chat starter which were both lovely and the grilled lamb and the Dahl also good. Felt it was very expensive and bad value for what we ordered and felt a bit disappointed as we had expected better. It had also limited choices for gluten free diet which impacted one of our guests especially in the starters Staff were friendly and helpful

Starter was good but main dishes it is ok . Chicken curry was standard nothing special . Sauce was good but chicken was looks like they boiled and add into curry. We told the manager but he didn’t take any notice of it.

We were recommended this restaurant and are both regulars on the London culinary scene and lovers of Indian cuisine. However the servers were disappointing with poor communication skills and very unattentive The food was average at best and not what we expected. There are many more Mayfair located Indian restaurants that we would chose than this

Every time I am in London, I make it a pint you visit the Tamarind. It was introduced to me by my great friend and SOAS university historian Dr Robert Taylor. The restaurant never fails to impress me. Good ambience service were all great

This was my third visit to Tamarind, and we tried the Gourmet tasting menu. Plenty of food, which came quickly (a bit too quickly sometimes), offered great variety and was of good quality. Not the finest Indian food I’ve had in London, but a treat all the same.

Food was delicious, however we were sat beside a very vocal couple who were arguing very loudly and staff should have taken control of the situation, it really spoiled the whole experience

This is, by my standards, the best Indian restaurant in London. Located in Mayfair, it is elegant without being overly formal. The food (we had the tasting menu) was simply spectacular. Subtle, varied, full of complementary flavors and beautifully plated. The price is not cheap, but not extraordinary for a restaurant of this quality. It is definitely a night out, not a casual bite. But worth every penny and memorable in every good way.

Great place to meet someone for lunch. Food is not too heavy, but delicious. Not too busy or noisy and good service. A bit on the expensive side.

I went for Sunday lunch for one. The staff were attentive, but not overly so. Made me feel comfortable, were knowlegeable about the dishes. The food was absolutely delicious.

Overall the experience was okay. The staff really do need more training. We had to keep topping up our water and it was not particularly busy so really no excuse. The caramel dessert was not great and was not eaten one off guests did say to the waitress and she just said sorry, the least she should have said was can I offer you an alternative I do believe this is down to training of the staff. Also 4 of the staff just lead against a work surface and were too busy talking amongst themselves to pay any attention to guests again this is training. The food overall apart from that the dessert was excellent but could do with more rice. Also I think they should have popperdoms on the menu. The restaurant is light, airy and spacious. When we left there was no one at reception so had to go upstairs again as we put our coats in. For having a Michelin star the restaurant is lacking the attention to detail.

We had never had gourmet Indian food before and we can't wait to have it again. The hostesses as you arrive were so accommodating. The bartenders were superb mixing specialty drinks. The manager/sommelier was totally helpful. The waitress could not have been nicer explaining menu items and helping with any allergies. Food was TOP notch. Each dish better than the next. All in all, I have already recommended this to local in London.

You will not find better Indian food in London (or anywhere else I’ve been). I’ve been to all three locations multiple times and their food is magnificent. They do delicate dishes extremely well and the traditional dishes are always amazing. The service is top notch…I’ve sent at least 10 people I know to this place to eat and every one of them feels the same.

It’s a beautiful restaurant! We were greeted immediately, went to our table. The chef tasting menu, is a lot of food , but a wonderful experience and best food we’ve had ! Wait staff ; close bye but not hovering, perfect. Both food and wine selection was fantastic. We will be back . Thank you

I go to Tamarind regularly because it has all the positive aspects of a top London restaurant: great food, attentive service, good ambience etc.. but without the typical annoying London hype that makes you have to book a table weeks in advance. Will be there again soon!
