'There's something sexy about the spy world': Keri Russell, 43, on falling in love with Matthews Rhys during The Americans and fearing her career may have an expiration date due to her age

She is a critically acclaimed actress who has been dating her The Americans co-star since 2014.

And Keri Russell discussed falling in love with partner Matthew Rhys, balancing work and family life and whether she has an expiration date in Hollywood in a candid new interview with Town and Country Magazine.

The Golden Globe winning actress, 43, and her long-term partner, 45, played two Soviet KGB agents on the award-winning series, sparking up a romance after she split from husband Shane Deary in 2013.

Talking about their enduring romance, Keri said: 'Obviously, there's something sexy about the whole spy world.

'It was a fun, sexy place to live in for years, especially being with someone I was so in love with. It wasn't like we were growing plants. We were shooting a lot at night.'

The pair had first met many years ago in their twenties with Rhys admitting that even back then he was 'quite taken by her.'  The pair now share son Sam, three.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actress Keri also admitted fearing her Hollywood career will dry up due to her age, while noting that Rhys will likely be working 'forever.'

She said: 'I do think about it. And I feel that [the time for dwindling roles] should sort of be now. 

'But at the same time, I just got an incredible offer to do something. A really, really rich story. Maybe it doesn't stop.'

Keri is mother to three children, as well as Sam, she shares River, 12, and Willa, eight, with ex husband Shane.

On balancing her successful career with motherhood, she said: 'I see a lot of other people who have great ambition, but I feel as if my life is so full, with little kids. I'm not hungry for a certain type kind of success.'

Keri will next be seen on screen as Zorri Bliss in the next Star Wars instalment, due for release on December 20.

Although details of the character have been kept under wraps Keri recently dished the masked character is an 'old friend' of Poe. 

She said: '…It was very attractive, the idea of not being the lead. The mask – I felt safe in it. And tough.'   

She also stars in the horror film Antlers, alongside Jesse Plemons, which is slated to debut in theaters on April 17, 2020.

Rhys is currently filming the new HBO series Perry Mason, portraying the title character with the show focusing on the iconic lawyer's origins in 1932 Los Angeles.

Keri looked sensational in the high fashion editorial, sporting vintage-inspired bouffant locks and smoky shadow.

The beauty slipped on a neon orange bolero and a string of pearls as she struck a smouldering pose.

The beauty wowed in a black and white flamenco-style dress with ruffled sleeves and crystal earrings as she frolicked in an opulent living room.
