When Universal and Blumhouse announced that Matthew Lillard had joined the cast of "Five Nights at Freddy's" as a "human antagonist," it was assumed that he was playing the twisted franchise villain, William Afton. However, the trailers and official press releases all list him as "Steve Raglan" a career counselor who helps Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) find his job as a security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. But "FNaF" fans aren't stupid, and the fandom is one of the most dedicated out there. You can't fool us, we know that man is William Afton.
It's assumed that "Steve Raglan" is just another pseudonym for Afton, and director Emma Tammi all but confirmed it as much to be true in the latest issue of Empire Magazine. "The human antagonist was the number one role that we really had the fan base in mind for," Tammi said. "What Matthew brings to all...

If Chuck E Cheese gave you nightmares, you might want to just go ahead and cross Five Nights at Freddy’s off your must-see list. If not, then the new trailer showcasing the animatronic characters will probably make you move the film higher up on that same list.

"Tell me how to stop them?" "You don't." Blumhouse has revealed a second official trailer for Five Nights At Freddy's, arriving in theaters just in time for Halloween this fall. The first two trailers have been pretty good, maybe more footage will get your attention. Based on the super popular video game series of the same name. The series consists of nine games at various locations connected to a family pizza restaurant franchise named "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza", based on its mascot, the animatronic bear Freddy Fazbear. In this horror movie, a troubled security guard begins working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy's has awoken something horrifying. Starring Josh Hutcherson, also with Matthew Lillard, Elizabeth Lail, Mary Stuart Masterson, Kat Conner Sterling, Jessica Weiss, and Grant Feely. Very curious to see how they expand this story with these animatronic monsters.

Cupcake? Attacking people. Foxy? Running like an awkward weirdo in the original game. Springtrap? Oh, baby, he is here, and "Five Nights at Freddy" fans are eatin' good with this newest movie trailer from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse. For the last decade, "Five Nights at Freddy's" (or "FNaF") has been a cultural phenomenon with a stranglehold on the landscape of horror gaming. Created by Scott Cawthon, the point-and-click survival horror game was a simple indie game that gained viral fame and turned into a multi-million dollar franchise. A film adaptation has been in production hell for over five years at this point, but everything we've seen thus far has been proof that this is no ordinary adaptation. It's difficult not to just sit here and completely geek out over this latest trailer, because after years of thinking a "FNaF" film wasn't ever going to see the light of day, seeing...

Finally set to arrive in theaters and on Peacock on Oct. 27, the Five Nights at Freddy's movie has been many years in the making. The second trailer, spanning two minutes long, provides another sneak peek into what goes on after hours in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. It also reveals new looks at the starring cast, such as Josh Hutcherson as security guard Mike Schmidt, as well as all of the animatronics: Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy... and a special surprise guest at the end.

The new trailer for the Five Nights at Freddy's movie gives a glimpse into the terrifying world of the animatronic mascots and teases some grisly kills. The four main animatronic mascots – Freddy, Foxy, Bonnie, and Chica – are properly introduced in the trailer. While the film hints at violence, it is only rated PG-13, so it may not be as gory as some horror movies.
A new Five Nights at Freddy's trailer introduces all four animatronic mascots and teases some grisly kills. Based on the beloved video game franchise created by Scott Cawthon, who co-wrote the script, the upcoming horror film follows a nighttime security guard at an abandoned family entertainment center, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where four animatronic mascots come alive and murder anyone who is there after midnight. The Five Nights at Freddy's cast includes Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, and Matthew Lillard.

The 2001 cult-classic horror movie Thirteen Ghosts features just that: thirteen ghosts. Starring Scream's Matthew Lillard and Tony Shalhoub of Monk fame, it's a remake of the 1960 film of the same name. The movie is hectic, to say the least, so it's understandable that many viewers don't know anything about the ghouls tormenting their screens.
Thirteen Ghosts follows Arthur Kriticos after the death of his beloved wife. He moves with his children into the house of his estranged uncle Cyrus, where they're soon forced to survive the ghosts haunting their new home. Here's a breakdown of the Thirteen Ghosts' backstories and the astrological signs they represent.

With the long-awaited release of Universal and Blumhouse's adaptation of "Five Nights at Freddy's" coming this Halloween, horror fans unfamiliar with the long-running video game series of the same name have been trying to catch up on all of the lore in preparation. The original point-and-click survival horror game is extremely easy to understand (be a security guard and don't die from evil animatronics coming to life to kill you) but has since expanded to 13 games and 32 books/graphic novels. That's a hell of a lot of ground to cover, and an impossibility for a single film to capture. With both the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild -- American Federation of Television and Radio Artists currently on a dual strike until the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers provides an acceptable contract for both unions, there hasn't been a whole lot of information released regarding the film.

The road from indie video game to big-screen adaptation for "Five Nights at Freddy's" has been a long one, with an assortment of delays, a full script rewrite, and a director change. Fans were starting to give up hope that the film would ever come to fruition, and considering the absolutely massive fanbase of the existing franchise, that's a whole lot of disappointed people. Fortunately, the "Fnaf" movie is a very real thing, and it's arriving just in time for spooky season 2023. The film features Matthew Lillard as William Afton, Josh Hutcherson as security guard Mike Schmidt, Elizabeth Lail as Vanessa Monroe, and Piper Rubio as Abby Schmidt, Mike's young daughter. Fans have also known for months that "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "Daniel isn't Real" star Mary Stuart Masterson was going to be playing "a villainous role," but no details regarding her character have been revealed ...
Until now.

Scooby-Doo and his friends team up to solve a mystery at Fazbear's Pizzeria in a stop-motion-inspired crossover with Five Nights at Freddy's. The animated short, titled "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? In... Springtrapped!", reimagines the horror franchise as a classic Scooby-Doo episode with recognizable gags. Both franchises share a connection through Matthew Lillard, who portrayed Shaggy in the live-action Scooby-Doo films and will play the villain William Afton in the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's movie.

"Five Nights at Freddy's" is one of the true video game success stories in recent memory, with the indie series becoming an absolute phenomenon in a real grassroots sort of way. As anyone would expect, Hollywood eventually came calling to adapt the tale for the big screen. And while horror maestro Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions fame finally managed to make it happen, it was a long journey that took a full six years. And even though he's a big-shot movie producer, Blum sees this as a real underdog situation for several reasons.
Speaking with IGN in June 2023, Blum explained how he and game creator Scott Cawthon spent years developing the film, which hits theaters and Peacock this fall. "Scott had been working on it as a movie with a studio for a while and that didn't work out, this is many years ago," Blum said. "Everyone said we could never get the movie done,...

James Gunn wanted Matthew Lillard to play Plastic Man in a movie 23 years ago, but it never happened. With Gunn now co-ceo of DC Studios, the timing is perfect for Lillard's portrayal of the DC hero. Plastic Man's malleable look and Lillard's charismatic acting make him a great fit for the upcoming DC Universe.
James Gunn failed to get one DC character off the ground 23 years ago, but the time is finally right for his perfect pairing to hit the big screen in the new DC Universe. Despite some undeniable high points over its 10-year run, the DC Extended Universe, which started with 2013's Man of Steel, will come to a close when Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom releases this December. Replacing it will be a new DC Universe canon, complete with a bevy of new characters and a more unified narrative plan for the future.

David Lynch and Mark Frost co-created Twin Peaks, one of the most challenging and innovative programs ever seen on network television. The show fuses deep mythology with neo-noir, satire, and Lynchian dream logic. Twin Peaks' conflict is between Good and Evil, with Laura Palmer representing innocence led astray by a corrupt world of shadows and secrets. Special Agent Dale Cooper and his allies do battle against dark forces, which lurk underneath the pleasant veneer of the small town.
Twin Peaks' scripts weave a complicated tapestry of surreal images and confounding symbols. The show presents a shifting landscape of doppelgangers, tulpas, secret agents, and brutal killers. Ultimately, the three seasons of Twin Peaks showcase some of the most enthralling episodes of television ever produced. However, some are rated more highly than others.

The Scream saga has been revived with legacy sequels that have sparked theories about past Ghostface killers, particularly Stu Macher. One theory suggests that Stu and Billy Loomis are half-brothers, explaining their strong bond and Stu's motivation for participating in the killing spree. The theory that Stu survived the events of the first Scream movie gained traction, with some believing he continued to influence subsequent Ghostface murders.
The Scream saga is back thanks to the legacy sequels Scream (2022) and Scream 6, which have revived various theories about past Ghostface killers, especially Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard). Josh Hutcherson and Morgan Freeman learn how to travel through time in the first trailer for 57 Seconds. The upcoming science fiction adventure from Highland Film Group is directed by Rusty Cundieff (Tales from the Hood), and is coming to theaters and in September.
Time travel has always been an interesting subject for movies and tv shows to explore, and it's been present in mainstream and independent projects since always. But the most interesting thing about Cundieff's new film is that the time travel experience is limited to 57 seconds, so how much can actually be changed in that little time? A lot, apparently.
Hutcherson and Freeman will be joined by Lovie Simone, Greg Germann, Sammi Rotibi, Lucius Baston, and Aaron Jay Rome in this action-packed adventure. Here's the official synopsis and trailer:
"Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) and Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby) star in this heart-racing action thriller.

Written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Wes Craven, this film is credited with revitalizing the slasher subgenre. It’s hilarious and creepy both, also shining light on the potential of comedy horror for modern film fans, like The Evil Dead (1981) in the decade prior. But Scream (1996) set itself apart from that Sam Raimi stint due to its being rooted deeply in satire.
From the indelible opening scene, the film’s meta nature is on full display. And every facet of filmmaking renders the sequence unforgettable: Drew Barrymore’s general presence, the self-referential dialogue, and of course the twist at the end — the film’s inciting incident as Casey Becker is murdered by the Ghostface killer, and the story is without a protagonist. Enter: Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell. This is a famous cast, with other performers including the likes of Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, and Matthew Lillard.

Superman: Legacy keeps having the most surprising announcements made concerning its cast, with many of these characters being separate from the Superman mythos entirely. The latest of these heroes to join the fray is the shapeshifting elemental Metamorpho, who's played by Anthony Carrigan. While it might seem random for him to have any sort of role in the film, he's likely there to establish the presence of another team.
In the comic books, Metamorpho was recently a member of The Terrifics, a group which was an expy of a certain other company's First Family. They were led by Mr. Terrific, who himself has just been cast for the DC Universe, as well. This means that the next Superman movie could see the popular team either already formed or coming together for the first time.

At one point, the Five Nights at Freddy's movie truly seemed like it would never find its way out of development hell. After the original video game turned out to be a tremendous hit upon its release in 2014, there were reported efforts to get a feature film adaptation off the ground going back as far as 2015. From there, the project failed to make any real attraction over the next several years, going through several script rewrites. At one point, Gremlins director Chris Columbus was on board to direct the film, but he'd exited the project by 2021.
Eventually, the stars would align, and filming on the project finally began earlier this year. The final script used comes from game creator Scott Cawthon alongside director Emma Tammi and Seth Cuddeback. Blumhouse's Jason Blum executive produces alongside Cawthon and Russell Binder. Evan Peters played one of his most memorable characters in American Horror Story when he appeared as Kai, and there is an interesting reason for Peters' blue hair. Coming as the horror anthology show's seventh season, American Horror Story: Cult chronicled the rise of a violent cult that asserts itself in the wake of the 2016 US presidential election. The most politically-charged season by far, AHS: Cult didn't shy away from pushing the audience's buttons when truly examining the mentality behind cult leaders and cults in general. Most importantly it found a new way to scare that was eerily realistic.
Understandably controversial considering its subject matter, AHS: Cult received positive reviews from critics and Peters' performance was especially praised. Much in the same way that the actor stole every scene he was in, Peters' blue hair left a distinct impression on viewers, and it became as much a part of...

The Five Nights at Freddy’s trailer has already made it mercifully clear that the video game adaptation won't repeat the worst mistakes of its imitators. Five Nights at Freddy’s became a hit when the indie video game was released in 2014. A first-person survival horror, Five Nights at Freddy’s forced the player to evade haunted animatronics, so they could survive the eponymous period in an abandoned pizzeria. Despite the premise’s simplicity, Five Nights at Freddy’s was so popular that the game went on to spawn countless copycats from Poppy Playtime to Duck Season to Choo Choo Charles. However, it wasn’t only games that ripped off Five Nights at Freddy’s.
2019’s The Banana Splits Movie and 2021's Willy’s Wonderland both saw killer animatronics pursue their heroes throughout one long night day/night, copying Five Nights at Freddy’s game formula. While Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey borrowed Five...
