Criminal Minds fans, it looks like Dr. Spencer Reid and Cat Adams are together once again ... well, sort of.

Actor Matthew Gray Gubler has kept himself busy since leaving the CBS franchise in 2020, and he gave folks a look at his holiday season in a new series of photos on Instagram. As he detailed what appeared to be an eventful New Year's with friends, his followers couldn't believe it when they saw him hanging out with his former co-star, Aubrey Plaza, who recurred as famed UnSub Cat Adams on the show's later seasons.

As the two posed for numerous candid moments alongside Aubrey's husband, Jeff Baena, actress Debby Ryan and her husband, Twenty One Pilots drummer Josh Dun, he couldn't help but joke how he already got a head start on one of his goals for 2024.

"My new year’s resolution of 'never standing in public' is off to a wonderful start," he hilariously captioned the post on January 8.

When fans saw the snaps, they were thrilled that Matthew and Aubrey were hanging out all these years later.

"SPENCER AND CAT ADAMS TOGETHER AGAIN," one person exclaimed in the comments on Instagram. "THIS IS EVERYTHING TO MEEEE," another declared. "SPENCER REID AND CAT ADAMS REUNION HELLO??" a different follower added.

As viewers of Criminal Minds know, Aubrey's character Cat debuted on the procedural drama in season 11, where her and Spencer find themselves in a stand-off as the BAU attempts to take down a hitmen ring. Cat was eventually taken into custody, but not before vowing to make Spencer's life miserable. Cat eventually was the mastermind behind how the FBI agent ended up in prison, and was last seen going on a date with Spencer as part of a negotiation to help the BAU find a kidnapped father-daughter duo.

What's more, this isn't the only time Matthew and Aubrey reunited since their time on Criminal Minds. The duo starred in the 2021 movie King Knight!

So, now we're thinking maybe there's a chance Matthew and Aubrey could star together for Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2?
