Once the Falcons selected Florida tight end Kyle Pitts with the No. 4 overall pick on Thursday night, quarterback Matt Ryan wasted no time in welcoming his new weapon to Atlanta.
Ryan had to be a little bit relieved to see Atlanta add a player that will maximize his career instead of replacing him as the team’s starting QB.
“Let’s get to work,” said Ryan to Pitts over Twitter.

Pitts gives Ryan another passing threat to bolster their already-potent passing attack. In an offense that heavily relies on tight end production, Pitts can provide the Falcons with the ultimate mismatch.
In 2020, his third season at the University of Florida, Pitts caught 43 balls for 770 yards and 12 touchdowns. His 4.44 speed and lengthy frame make him a rare talent that can help Atlanta right away.
