Matt Rosendale

Matt Rosendale (7 July 1960-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-MT) from 3 January 2021 to 3 January 2023 (succeeding Greg Gianforte) and from MT-2 from 3 January 2023.

Biography[]

Matthew Martin Rosendale Sr. was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1960, and he worked in real estate, real estate development, and land management. He moved to Glendive, Montana in 2002 and engaged in agri-business and served on his Roman Catholic parish council, and his friends and neighbors convinced him to enter politics to reduce spending and regulations, defend their gun and property rights, and protect the sanctity of life. He served in the State House from 2011 to 2013, in the Montana Senate from 2013 to 2017, as Auditor of Montana from 2017 to 2021, and in the US House of Representatives from 2021. His seat was eliminated by the post-Census redistricting in 2021 and replaced by MT-1 and MT-2; he was re-elected in MT-2.
