Love Love Mathilde French Bistro! Wait staff are so wonderful and knowledgeable about the food as well as providing great restaurants ideas when traveling to France, too - as was our experience with our waiter last night! Great service plus travel advice!

What a great classic French bistro. Super accommodating and will make sure your meal is to your liking. It was a little chilly in the back area but to find a restaurant with a cozy outside place like this is very hard. There is parking on the street and the restaurant was full. We staff and Management all super friendly. If you want a great evening experience check it out.

We have been to Mathilde many times and always had fabulous dinners. This was no exception. The restaurant week menu— onion soup, ribeye steak, and apple tart were great; the mussels were fantastic, probably the best I’ve tasted in the U.S.; the warm goat cheese salad was a little bit salty for my taste. The Pomerol paired nicely with the steak without overpowering the mussels, and was of a great value, and the service was excellent as usual. Overall, we had another wonderful evening!

Went here on Friday of restaurant week. Decided not to order the prix fix menu because the other menu was less expensive. Loved our meal, service was excellent, will definitely eat here again! French onion soup ($25) was absolutely the best we’ve ever had. One person ordered the hanger steak which came with a salad and really good fries. I ordered the fish special which was also very good. Wanted to order one of the yummy desserts we saw but were just too full. Next time I’m coming for the soup and dessert

One of our greatest dining experiences in SF in years. We were there 30 some years ago and remembered it vaguely as good (as Le Charm). This time it was wonderful in all ways, service, food, value etc. We really liked the informal bistro atmosphere and our server was a delightful young woman. We had just come back from SE Asia and we talked with her a little about the seafood there and at Mathilde. Every dish from appetizer to dessert was distinctive and perfectly done. It's a great value, though expensive, given the quality and friendliness.
