Offer Description

At the Institute of Chemistry at Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg in Halle (Saale) Germany, we are looking for a PhD student associated with our DFG-funded Research Training Group (RTG) BEyond AMphiphilicity (BEAM; https://beam.uni-halle.de) !

What we at BEAM offer:
• exciting projects in fundamental theoretical and experimental soft matter research
• a supportive, inclusive, and enthusiastic atmosphere
• in-depth training in interdisciplinary soft matter science
• individual supervision and mentoring
• a PhD student mobility program with academic partners in Zurich (Switzerland) and Paris (France)
• a structured PhD program with seminars, workshops on scientific and professional skills, and individual coaching
• a family-friendly infrastructure built up by the University and BEAM

• Halle is a vital student city with low cost of living and the University of Halle-Wittenberg offers a long tradition of academic excellence

Your application:

If you are a chemist, physicist, or biochemist and want to understand the self-assembly process of small and medium-sized charged molecules in binary and ternary solvent mixtures we can offer you an interesting project that combines synthesizing these molecules and then study their (mainly electrostatic) self assembly in solution using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy and diverse light- and x-ray scattering methods.

In case of questions about BEAM, you may always contact Dr. Imme Sakwa-Waltz, Tel.: 0345 55-25239, E-Mail: imme.sakwa-waltz@chemie.uni-halle.de, if you want to apply then please send your documents using the ID BEAM-A2-2 and the usual documents via e-mail to Prof. Dr. Dariush Hinderberger, dariush.hinderberger@chemie.uni-halle.de
