I do enjoy Ally's comentary over most of the more "famous" commentators.

He seems to be really fair and generally calls things down the middle, plus that Glaswegian accent is top notch

β€’

He even calls most things down the middle if he's doing a Rangers match. And for a guy who played there most of his career and managed them, that's pretty good.

Although, when it's a Scotland game, he does get more biased but can't really blame him.

Also always seems happy and upbeat, like he actually enjoys being there, watching the game. Which seems rarer and rarer these days. So many commentators these days sound bored and disinterested.

Couldn't agree more with this. He sounds like he enjoys watching football. I mean it's a dream job, being paid to watch football and talk about it, yet as you say, most are moany

Listening to Jon Champion talk about him on Football ClichΓ©s last week... The guy just has an immense lust for life and that always comes through in his commentary. Always seems like he's having the time of his life.

He's the best by a mile of any of the co comms on any channel

This season especially he seems like he's having an absolute blast just being at the footy. I'd love to pint with him

What a legend, still remember his commentary from the FIFA 2006/07 games, it's all been downhill since.

When Walter Smith died McCoist talked about how he took him to see AC/DC and how Smith really enjoyed it.

β€’

Based cant wait to see them live finally this summer idc that theres only two guys left

I can't fault his enthusiasm, but I do think it's funny that he's reacting to hearing the opening track from one of the biggest selling albums of all-time as though it's an obscure B-side by a band that never made it.

β€’

Not really, it's more to do with the fact music like that doesn't get played at stadiums often anymore. Atleast in the UK.
