  • Marlboro High School Marlboro High School is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in academics, arts, and athletics while developing the mind, body, and spirit of each student. Located in western Monmouth County, it is one of six high schools in the Freehold Regional High School District. Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Marlboro High School has an experienced staff with more than 55% of Marlboro’s highly qualified professional staff holding post-graduate degrees. Students are thus provided with an exceptional combination of expertise and continuity.

    Marlboro High School’s administrative and counseling staff promotes articulation with the elementary district of Marlboro Township to provide a seamless transition to secondary school. Using a comprehensive placement procedure, a course of study is prepared for students allowing them to maximize their potential and achieve success. The Guidance Department maintains an extensive website which provides students and parents with information about the high school’s curriculum offerings, scheduling and family and health services. The Guidance Department also uses a state of the art internet based program to assist students and parents in college and course planning, scheduling and SAT prep.

    The challenging four-year curriculum at Marlboro High School is enhanced by Advanced Placement (AP) courses in World and Classical Languages, Calculus, Statistics, History, English Literature and Composition, English Language and Composition, Studio Art, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Psychology and Government. Honors level courses are also offered in English, Math, World and Classical Languages, Fine Arts, Social Studies and Technology. Students may also enroll in college courses through an articulation agreement with Brookdale Community College. Courses are offered at Marlboro in Graphics, Photography, Electronics, Computer Instruction, Fashion Merchandising, Interior Design, and Architecture. Students successfully passing the challenging Tech Prep exams receive college credit from Brookdale Community College.

    Through a competitive selection process, students may participate in the Business Administration Magnet Program at Marlboro High School. Established in 1990, this specialized program accepts the top student applicants from the district’s sending middle schools. This curriculum is rigorous and challenging. Students who graduate from the program are routinely accepted into the most prestigious universities in the United States.

    Students who have special needs are instructed in an environment with a full array of supportive services that is characterized by individualization and the desire for every student to succeed. An active after school program offers opportunities for the social and emotional development of these students.

    Marlboro High School offers a wide selection of athletic and extracurricular opportunities. Marlboro High School is a member of the Shore Conference and the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA). Over the years, the teams have distinguished themselves with numerous Shore Conference, County, and State championships.

    In addition to the athletic programs, the extra-curricular program offers dozens of social organizations and service clubs appealing to a wide variety of students and their interests. The community and local charities have benefited significantly through the dedication and efforts of the students. In addition, sizable donations have been contributed to medical research, U.S. troops overseas, the homeless and numerous humanitarian concerns.

    The students at Marlboro High School have distinguished themselves academically in many ways. Marlboro High School routinely performs with the top public high schools in New Jersey.  In the 2017-2018 school year, 85.4% of the Advanced Placement tests received a 3 or above. The Class of 2018 earned distinction in the National Merit Scholarship Program with commended and semi-finalists in their awards recognition.  In the arts and athletics, Marlboro students received All-District, All-County, and All-State recognition for their achievements.

    Over ninety-eight percent of Marlboro High School graduates go on to post-secondary education and are accepted into highly competitive colleges and universities. Follow-up surveys indicated that Marlboro graduates are well prepared and successful in their college endeavors.
