Mark David Hodges was born on March 5, 1961 to Willard and Carol (Woodman) Hodges at Lake Preston, SD.
He was an only child. Mark graduated from Lake Preston High School in 1979. He owned a concrete business in California and took over his father's farm in the late 1990's.

He is preceeded in death by his parents Willard and Carol Hodges, grandparents, uncle Howard Hodges, aunt Donna Williams and his fondest cousin Brett Hodges.
